Beschreibung

Hello I’m Lauryn! I recently graduated from the University of Florida with degrees in Art and Anthropology. I’m now working as an artist (and bartender by night) in Lakeland, Florida. I was born and raised in Florida and have quite limited travel experience, even within in the U.S but, I’ve always dreamed of exploring the world, so here I am!

I always tell people my goal is to be a renaissance man— I want to learn as much as possible in this life. I try to busy myself with many different things. I like really tedious activities like baking and writing. I also love challenging myself with endurance running and learning new skills (I’m currently learning to sew!). On the other hand, I do appreciate relaxation. My favorite ways to chill are reading, talking with friends, and watching youtube. I would describe myself as outgoing, dedicated, compassionate, and honest. I think these traits are what make me a good bartender, I love connecting with people, taking care of them, and creating something for them to enjoy. I’m excited to experience different walks of life through travel and to broaden my understanding of the world.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be Anthony Bourdain. I think that’s still what I’m after.

I have two degrees in Art and Anthropology so I have experience researching, talking to people, doing tedious organization tasks, and working with my hands. I have some (limited) wood-working and ceramics skills. Throughout high school and college, I frequently volunteered in children’s camps and I babysat for an infant for several months after graduating. I have also worked in the service industry for 6 years as a cashier, food runner, and bartender. I’m not afraid to get dirty, to clean, and to sweat. I pride myself in giving 100% to everything I set my mind to and can learn quickly in order to do my best at whatever the task demands.

Was noch ...

I love playing cards and board games. My favorite card game is called “push up”, which no one has ever heard of when I mention it to them. My favorite board games are trivial pursuit and catan.

I am really interested in learning more about how to maintain a garden/farm! I’ve always been passionate about sustainability but haven’t gotten the opportunity to have hands-on experience with sustainable/homesteading practices. I’m excited to learn all I can about the subject!
