Beschreibung

I am 27 years old, and have always had an inclination to travel! In college I got into backpacking, camping, paddling, and hiking, which has driven me to epic multi-day adventures. I have a minor in Spanish, and I am hoping to put it back to use after studying abroad in Costa Rica in 2016.

Two years ago, I left my midwest friends and family to live in Portland, Oregon in order to be closer to mountains and nature. I transferred with the company I've been working for since I graduated college, Plexus, to a developing manufacturing site. However, corporate decided to shut down the Portland manufacturing site, leaving me on severance for the entire month of July. This directed me to travelling with a purpose - to emerge myself in a culture and community so far out of my comfort zone as a final summer vacation as an adult.

I have always thrown myself into risky situations with uncertainty: studying abroad in Costa Rica, interning at a surgical robotic startup in Miami FL, working on a tourism island as a server in Michigan, and crewing sailboats in the Apsotle Islands, French Polynesia, and Puerto Rico. I have also volunteered extensively, mostly with special needs children, though I am well rounded in soft, admin, technical, and physical skills.
