As an introverted extrovert, I appreciate the balance between community, connection and personal growth. I have a passion for learning, I'm always eager to absorb new skills, ideas, perspectives and cultural experiences like a curious little sponge 🧽✨

I consider myself highly sensitive- sometimes that felt like a dirty word growing up, but i consider myself very resilient aswell, I'm fascinated by psychology, philosophy, introspection, communication skills and other eastern modalities such as meditation, breathwork. I like to be very active, I've been a weightlifter for years, i dance, do yoga, cycle, and am always excited to try new activities!

Embracing a slow 🐢 and mindful approach to travel, I relish the opportunity to truly immerse myself in new environments and foster genuine connections with those around me. I look forward to continuing my journey, discovering hidden gems, and sharing my warmth and curiosity with the world.😊☀️

I'm open-minded and adaptable, with a blend of experiences under my belt. Professionally, I've been assistant manager helping run a busy restaurant and patisserie 🍰, worked in housekeeping, at holiday resorts, as a chef 👩‍🍳 and as a personal trainer 🏋️‍♀️ amongst other roles.
I'm always happy to try my hand at anything and learn new skills.

Vom Workawayer () für Host (The inner garden that grows ...)

My stay with Vittorio was welcoming from the start. He made me feel at ease and at home straight away! I appreciated his laid-back attitude and his eagerness to match tasks to our (our: as in during my stay a couple of others visited too) experience, ensuring we were happy. He also made sure I was comfortable, providing extra blankets and a water… read more bottle during a rainy week.

I really enjoyed his encouragement and patience with my learning Italian, everyday we would spend a good amount of time with him speaking in English and i would reply in my (very broken!) Italian to practice. We would also take some lovely walks around the beach and had some movies nights (with italian subtitles to help me keep up!).

He would cook dinner and often lunch so i got to try plenty of Italian dishes- lots of pasta ofcourse! A friend of his visited to help with the work at one point and made a artichoke and limon pasta sauce that I dream about.. and cannot wait to try to recreate at home.. as well as the lentil soup (zuppa di lenticchie 🤩) ofcourse as lentils are a favourite of mine, drizzled with his home grown (!) olive oil and some local bread.. delicious!
Another thing that was nice was he was happy for me to use the kitchen during my stay, as during my time traveling i had missed cooking so much!! Unfortunately i was rusty and the pasta was not al dente.. i think it's a crime to serve soft pasta to an Italian!! 😭😂😂

The work that i did changed day to day, because it was raining so much at first i started inside with some tasks of organisation, then taking photos and working online to help set up a website for him for the room, and then on the nicer days helping with the plants in the garden or the terrace!
The work was not hard and not for too many hours and in exchange i chipped in for the cost of some groceries when we would go to the nearby village of santo sefano.
While I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Vittorio and appreciated the tranquility of the location, during my stay his car had broken down and so it was not as easy as i had hoped to access the nearby villages in order to explore, or hop on a train to access other nearby cities.

Oh and ofcourse i have to briefly mention the lovely orange cat! Such a sweet little cat that would curl up on me infront of the fire or at the dinner-table and the neighbours had a little puppy too that would visit in the hopes of scratches!

In a nutshell, my time with Vittorio was a wonderful experience, marked by his genuine warmth and adaptability. From enjoying authentic Italian cuisine to engaging in diverse work tasks, I truly felt at home in this serene setting. For those seeking tranquility and a supportive host, I wholeheartedly recommend Vittorio as a Workaway host. Do keep in mind that having your own transportation will greatly enhance your ability to explore Sicily's beauty.
