We are Karen and Lucas, an American/Brazilian couple that met in Cairns, Australia while on seperate travel journeys and are now sharing the adventure together. We share a passion for exploring, learning, the arts, and connecting with nature / wildlife. Inspired by our recent experiences, we hope to travel more and find people that can share knowledge about permaculture, sailing, alternative living and their personal culture. We are positive and respectful, and feel really lucky to have the opportunity to travel and learn so much with like minded people around the world. With experience in construction, gardening, animal care, housekeeping, and hospitality, neither of us are strangers to hard work and ready to contribute.

Karen
Gardening and weeding- Volunteer Workaway experience, 3 years of caring for a community plot, housesitting /gardening maintenance
Painting/ Maintenance- Experience sanding/ painting both indoor and outdoor walls/ ceilings, experience demolishing / repairing fences, various other maintenance skills
Hospitality- I have worked as a hostess/ all arounder for over a year in a restaurant, 2 years as a salesperson
Technology- While working as a salesperson, I used various online softwares and also ran the social media pages for the company I worked for
Childcare/ Education- I have worked as a tutor professionally for a year. I also have been a tutor for children aged 6-10 on a volunteer basis for 6 years. In the United States I successfully ran my own childcare business for 4 years with recurring clients.

Lucas
Landscaping & Gardening - One year experience executing small landscaping projects and garden basic maintenance. Also plant nursery experience, propagating, identifying plants and diseases.
Painting - One and a half year experience painting interior and exterior of houses and building, skilled with brush, roll, and painting gun.
Building Labour - Basic Power tools knowledge, basic carpentry, concreting, and fencing knowledge from a four months renovation experience.
Hospitality - Six months experience in Australia between retailing and other customer service jobs. Six months as a waiter in Brazil.
Marketing - Graduated in Marketing and Advertising in Brazil, worked as a copywriter for two years.

Was noch ...

Karen-
I found outlets for myself in journaling, painting, self defense classes, and yoga. I am both a homebody and someone that is eager to enjoy new adventures.
Environmentalism and community outreach are also very important to me. Supporting small business, working to clean local parks, and spending time helping young children are all things I consider impactful and necessary for me to feel fulfilled. I want to learn more about what I can do to help the planet and learn different skills to help with that.

Lucas-
I find joy in the daily life and have been more and more attracted to try and fill my days with a more natural lifestyle. I'm a photographer and arts enthusiast, being drawn to music, movies and paintings a lot too. I enjoy connect with different people and knowing more about them and the places they come from. I'm always eager to learn and explore and hope to see as much as I can from this beautiful world.
