I live in Hamburg and am looking for a getaway before starting my master's degree. Big foodie and love exploring everywhere!

Hi there, my name is Julia and currently finishing my bachelor's in beautiful Hamburg, Germany.
Before continuing with my master's I want to explore more about Colombia. My goal is to pick up trade skills, meet new people and discover a little more about the world.

This will be my first Workaway experience, and I’m excited to dive into cultural exchange, learn new skills, and broaden my horizons. I believe that immersing myself in different environments and working alongside others is the best way to truly connect with a place.

I’m an open-minded, enthusiastic, and curious person who loves meeting new people and discovering different ways of life. I adapt quickly, enjoy learning by doing, and am always happy to lend a hand—whether it’s helping around the house, cooking, working with people, or exchanging skills and knowledge.

Beyond that, I have a keen interest in international cultures, enjoy outdoor activities, and love good conversations over a shared meal. I’m excited to contribute, learn, and make meaningful connections during my travels.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have quite some experience in tourism and hospitality as I grew up in a town living from tourism. My parents own a hotel which I worked full-time at and nowadays still support them with. I also worked in restaurants and in service.
I am a business student and my latest part time job was in marketing (SEA, social media), so I bring some expertise in this field as well.
Also, I love, love cooking for my friends and me. I enjoy all different kinds of cuisines and like to try myself out here. Happy to also learn your favorite recipe!
Lastly, I would describe myself as a creative, crafty person. I love knitting, sewing, dancing, and so on.

I don't know what else to put in here right now, but please be assured, I am happy to learn, get my hands dirty, and help with anything!! :)

PS: I speak German and English fluently and also a little French. Would love to learn more about your language and have a little exchange.

Was noch ...

I am currently trying out many things: Last year I did my first cycling tour (Tour de France got me hooked), started salsa and pottery, and worked as an extra on a movie set. I enjoy getting myself into unknown territory and am pretty much up for anything. If you have a hobby, pretty sure I'll be up to join you!

In my freetime, I liketo dance, listen to music, knit, and do yoga. I love having board game nights with my friends (not saying I'm good but I enjoy a good game of Activity or Code Names). I also appreciate calmer times as well, where I just have a good coffee and a book.
