As part of a nomadic boating community in the Uk it would be great to meet other boaters and see how this compares. Sustainability, nature focused and animal care projects are an interest too.

Hi, we are couple currently living on a boat in the UK (our Instagram boat account is @messinaboat).
Jenni is studying for an MA in Nature & Travel Writing and is undertaking her next trip as part of her degree to find interesting things to write about.
Here is a a little about us both
Jenni-
I am a 33 year old language and literature graduate, studying a writing MA who loves photography. (My instagram account is @Compass_Keen if you wish to take a look). I sing (a little reluctantly) bossa nova to accompany Callum.
Callum-
I am an easy going 33 year old psychology graduate who enjoys playing the guitar, specifically bossa nova (which I encourage Jenni to sing), travelling and photography.

We have an interest in learning portuguese because of the music we love.
Both of us previously worked at a University in England as academic support workers, Callum has also been an Assistive Technology trainer.
We have previously volunteered with Workaway and WWOOF in Norway where we helped build stonewalls, herd sheep, pack tea, make candles, guide tours and all sorts of other wonderful things. We then loved it so much we volunteered in Canada & USA on farms/ eco-homesteads and households; and once more in NewZealand in 2018 - sadly a death in the family cut this volunteer stunt short, then adding Covid, we have now had a few years off from volunteering.
We're not shy of hard work and love meeting new people and taking on new experiences.
PS we are from England, not sure why work away lists us as from Norway? Callum has a driving license but Jenni doesn’t.

Was könntest du arbeiten?
We can both cook and clean but welcome any manual labour (lifting and building). I am studying for a TEFL certificate so I could help improve your English if you so desire. Callum is a skilled guitar player and we both have a knack for photography. We are both reasonably good in the garden but with most things we first need to be shown once and practise makes perfect. I have had many customer service jobs and am also handy with craft and painting work; we are also good with children :)

The work ethic we expected was explained in detail. We believe we are great hosts; separate accomodation with bathroom and kitchen; 3 meals a day and free wifi.
Callum and Jenni never showed up for work at 9am; never worked 4 hours a day; and occupied our personal space when repeatedly asked… read more
