I‘m currently staying in Denmark as the start of my backpacking journey. Through my experiences I hope to find out more about myself and how I want my life to be like.

Beschreibung

Hi, I’m Jana, 19 years old, and I come from Hannover, where I live with my parents and my older sister Ronja. Even though we don’t have any pets at the moment, I’m a huge animal lover and definitely plan on changing that in the future.

Right now, I’m travelling through northern Europe with my backpack. Before starting college, I want to take some time to explore new places, gain hands-on experience, and meet people from different backgrounds through Workaway — something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time.

I’m a creative person and love expressing myself through painting, writing, acting, and especially dancing, which is my biggest passion. I also really enjoy being outdoors and working with nature and animals, so I’m always happy to help wherever I’m needed.

I’m open-minded, reliable, and motivated, and even if I don’t know how to do something right away, I’m always eager to learn and adapt. I’m excited to step out of my comfort zone and see where this journey takes me :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

For almost three years, I’ve worked as a counselor at a children’s camp, where I’ve taken care of kids, organized games and creative activities, helped with crafts, and kept shared areas clean and tidy. Through this, I’ve learned how to be responsible, patient, and flexible while working in a team.

I’ve been performing in plays, dances, and singing from a young age, so I’m comfortable entertaining people. I’ve also occasionally helped with teaching and guiding activities, which has helped me explain things clearly and work well with others.

I’m happy to help with cleaning, tidying, organizing spaces, and daily routines. I don’t mind repetitive tasks and like keeping things neat and structured.

Through different internships, I’ve gained experience in history education, nursing, and gardening. This taught me how to adapt quickly to new environments, follow instructions, and work carefully and reliably.

I also enjoy working outdoors and helping with gardening or general maintenance tasks.

Since I’m vegan, I’ve experimented a lot with different recipes and discovered a real joy in cooking and baking, especially for friends and family. I’m always happy to help in the kitchen and try out new dishes.

Was noch ...

It’s honestly hard for me to keep this short, because I have many interests and really enjoy the little things in life. What inspires me most, though, is art in all its forms — painting, architecture, literature, music, and especially theater. I love expressing myself creatively and am just as inspired by seeing how others do the same.

One of my favorite artists is Vincent van Gogh, and seeing Starry Night in New York last year was such a very special moment for me that it even brought me to tears. Theater is another big passion of mine. I attended a musical theater school in my free time for 13 years and had the chance to perform on stage several times — a feeling that still means a lot to me and continues to inspire me.

Besides art, I love spending time in nature and taking care of my many plants at home, watching them grow and thrive really makes me happy. I also enjoy spending time with my friends, especially my best friend Lynette. We share many interests and love exchanging ideas, creating things together, and simply enjoying everyday moments.
