Hello! My name is Jalal Zahir. I am 27 years old and was born and raised in the United States. The reason I decided to start my Workaway journey is simple. It has been my life goal to travel the world and indulge myself in as many languages and cultures as possible. Well last month I received the biggest blessing of my life, I got fired. This gave me the final push to start my journey. So from June to December of 2025 I will be backpacking Southeast Asia for six months. I am looking for volunteer opportunities while I travel to further immerse myself within the culture of these communities.

Was noch ...

For the first 27 years of my life I have felt trapped in my own body and home. Trapped by the cultural pressures put on me by my parents. For the first time in my life I want to do something for me, and that is what Workaway is. That does not mean I plan on being selfish. If you give me the opportunity to volunteer you will find that I am consistently willing to go above and beyond to help my teammates. You will find me curious, joyful, charismatic, a good dancer (I took bachata and salsa classes) and hopefully you'll find a friend as well.
