Hello/Hola/Ola!
My name is Ivory (or Marfil). I am a 26 year girl traveling in Latin America. I am a polite, helpful, sweet, fun and hardworking guest from California. I am interested in learning about other cultures, not merely from the perspective of a tourist, but on a more intimate level.
I traveled in South America (Ecuador, Perú, Colombia, and Chile) for over a year (including 4 months on a motorcycle). Currently, I am back in the US but itching to see the world again!
One of the sweetest compliments I've ever gotten from a friend: "Ivory is down for anything." Openness to new experiences is something I try to embrace wholeheartedly! I love learning about new cultures, meeting new people, and embracing spontaneity. Isn't that what gives life its color?
I enjoy cooking and caring for pets and children, and I am willing to help however I am needed (: Although I do not have a lot of experience with building and gardening, I would love to help out and learn more about construction and sustainability. I also have volunteered in hostels before doing general maintenance and hospitality duties, including cleaning, check-in, guest services, etc., and have even painted a mural (and would love to do another)! I also have some graphic design experience and would be happy to help you with a logo or another design project.
Additionally, I work online as an English and Spanish teacher, so I'm happy to offer any language help (classes, interpretation, or translation).
I also love art, playing the ukulele, hiking, cycling, dancing, and urban exploration/exploring abandoned places, and I am open to any new places/experiences you would like to introduce me to.

Hola! Hello! Olá!
Me llamo Ivory pero me puede llamar "Marfil" (sí, como el colmillo de un elefante-- es un apodo y la traducción de mi nombre en inglés). Soy una chica de 25 años viajando por America Latina. Soy una voluntaria educada, positiva, divertida y trabajadora de California. Me interesa aprender sobre otras culturas, no solo desde la perspectiva de turista, sino a un nivel más profundo.
Viajé por más de un año viajando por Sudamérica (Ecuador, Perú y Chile), incluso cuatro meses viajando en moto. Actualmente, estoy otra vez en los EEUU, pero me están dando las ganas de viajar de nuevo! Mi próxima destinación será Guatemala este verano que viene.
Disfruto cocinar y cuidar mascotas y niños, y estoy dispuesto a ayudar en lo que sea necesario (: Aunque no tengo tanta experiencia con la construcción ni la jardinería, pero me encantaría ayudar y aprender más sobre estas áreas. He hecho voluntaridos antes en hostales, ayudando con limpieza, mantenimiento general, servicio a los huéspedes, etc., hasta pinté un mural, un trabajo que me fascinó y que me encantaría volver a hacer! También tengo un poco de experiencia con el diseño gráfico, así que estaría encantada de ayudarle con hacer un logo y/o otro proyecto de diseño que usted pueda necesitar.
Además, trabajo en línea como profesora de inglés y español, por lo tanto estoy feliz de ofrecer cualquier ayuda con el idioma (sea clases y/o servicios de interpretación/traducción).
También me encanta el arte, tocar el ukelele, caminar, andar en bicicleta, leer, hacer yoga.... estoy abierta a cualquier experiencia nueva que quieras presentarme.
Espero viajar en bicicleta más en un futuro cercano.
