Hello there !
I'm Joy and I'm 24. I'm a French girl who would like to discover the world and develop as many skills as possible.
Currently trying to get to know myself, I want to get even more open-minded and go back to simple things : lots of time in nature, good food and friendly people. I also love learning from others !
I love cooking and to get creative (sometimes I grab Too Good To Go orders and create meals from what I get in it), spending hours in modern art exhibitions, reading, and I'm into cinema recently. I also make collages from times to times because in art, fun > beauty !
I try to be responsible in my day to day life : I try to buy second hand stuff instead of new, make some of my cleaning products (less pricey and way more natural !!), upcycle some objects into others.
I'm very flexible and have many different interests. I can easily go from alone time and slow life, to having a couple drinks with friends on nights out.
My last Workaways were catsitting in the Netherlands, gardening in an alpaca farm near Toronto, or being an Airbnb co host in Ottawa.
I was a waitress in a very touristy café in France and know about customer care and service, billing, reservation handling... I'm really flexible and can adapt easily in situations even in a rush, as long as I have clear instructions.
I'm really open to communicate and honest, as I want other people to be towards me, so feel free to ask me anything I forgot to talk about ! :)

PS : Just in case, I'm LGBTQ friendly, not officially vegan or vegetarian even though some of my meals are, but definitely don't mind to have this diet.

I've been working in office jobs in France since I'm 17. The jobs often were about administrative work in big companies : litigation, health insurance, organic wholesaler. I'm currently a remote freelancer in customer service area. So I have no problem with internet or softwares once I’m used to it ! I also studied marketing and communication for one year and can help with social media management and other tasks related.
However, in order to escape the 9-5 routine I tried to discover other domains. For example, I volunteered for a week in a open-air summer event (to have a better idea of what it is, you can look for "Guinguette, France" in Google Images) and helped with welcoming the guests, making sure everyone was respecting the Covid distances and rules during the concerts, helped with clearing stages and cleaning the park every evening...
I also got my first apartment at 17, living 1h away from my parents. Everything related to independance and basic living as a adult is obviously a skill I have since 5 years now :D
I have a bit of experience in gardening and animal care. As a child, I loved helping my grandma who lives in an old farm and still has a garden where she grows vegetables and fruits. She has cats, hens and a dog. I used to take care of the pets (feeding, playing with them, giving medication…). I also had a free-roaming bunny during 2 years while living of my own. I also did housesitting/catsitting for 2.5 weeks in the Netherlands during June 2023 (going back in June 2024 !), and in France for 2 months (July-August and October-November 2023).
I would love to learn about reception jobs (which I don't think would be a problem for me since I've been told by many managers that I am very enthusiastic with clients, and a quick learner).
Also, learning how to harvest food, plants, take care about animals and learn about them, or even how to renovate a house (painting, wood work, DIYs...) sounds great to me. As I said earlier, I have lots of interests so the more I can learn, the better !
I'm fluent in English, except for specific fields vocabulary of course. I can also speak a bit of Spanish but I didn't practice since a couple years, so I'm definitely not as good as in English. :)

Concerning my hobbies, I like reading, developping my creativity, modern arts and culture, interactive museums, spirituality, painting...
