Hello! We are Isha and Elyse, two friends from university who met 6 years ago while volunteering on our campus farm. Elyse currently lives in Chicago and works for a food recycling company. Isha currently lives in New York City and works in power & utilities and renewables M&A.
We are passionate about sustainability and are excited to spend some time away from our day jobs to immerse ourselves in a new experience. We are eager to be outdoors, connect with others, and learn and be inspired by the permaculture projects we hope to meaningfully contribute to.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Elyse graduated with degrees in International Studies and the Environment, which shaped her view of the world around her. She studied Spanish in school as well and is eager to practice. Outside of her education, she has worked in food donation to prevent food waste and fight hunger; and currently creates recycling programs for food manufacturing companies. While Elyse was in school, she worked at a local food store selling produce and as a barista. She has experience working on a produce farm and contributing to crop planning, planting, weeding, harvesting, and general maintenance. She has also volunteered with community gardens and her local farmers market.

Isha works in the renewables and power industry, so she has a deep understanding of energy systems. In school, she studied finance and data science, giving her technical abilities in coding, including website design. While working on farms throughout high school and college, she gained a basic understanding of fruits and vegetable farming and gardening. She also has experience in organizing community efforts including working on voting initiatives and revitalization efforts. She was formerly an active volunteer at an after school music school, and gained experience working with children and teaching. In New York, Isha volunteers with New York Cares and taught chess for elementary school students. Isha is comfortable teaching her native language, English, and is also conversational in Hindi and Spanish. Most importantly, Isha brings her excitement and effort. She is positive, likes to try new things, and is eager to build more skills. Personally, she is hoping to learn more skills with her hands and learn more about plants and natural wildlife.

Elyse is an amateur pottery student and likes to run for fun. She recently learned how to knit.
Elyse and Isha both enjoy yoga.
In her free time, Isha listens to podcasts, swims, and plays tennis. She recently went scuba diving for the first time.
