Hello lovely people! I am new to workaway but have been aware of the platform for years and have been toying with the idea of participating for a long time. After a very rough couple of years, feeling rather overwhelmed with my life in the city I am more than ready to escape to a rural way of life for a little bit. My aim is to live in natures rhythm. To gain insight into all that it can teach me. To work with my hands and learn new crafts. To have some distance from working in front of a screen and adapt to a more simple routine. I am looking forward to learning from my surroundings, other people, animals and whatever else there might be. I am very open minded and have traveled quite a bit and always found that honest exchanges with other humans is what nurtures me most. Flexibility comes easy to me and I am very eager to learn and apply new methods, whatever they may be. Spending time outdoors and appreciating the little things like naturally grown, delicious food, time with loved ones and a beautiful landscape are what brings me the biggest joy in life :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

In terms of physical labour I have very little experience. I have never worked on a farm before but I love to get up early and I am not afraid to get my hands dirty. I grew up riding horses (western style) and I always helped out at the stable. I also had my own horse growing up and know how much work it can be to take care of other living beings. Despite that I know nothing about harvesting crops or growing my own food (except the tomatoes and herbs on my balcony hihi). But this is something I would love to learn and expand my knowledge on. I am also very curious about natural health remedies through herbs and food and would be grateful for any insight on similar topics.

I studied fashion and have spent many hours mending and upcycling clothes so if there is work that involves fabrics I can definitely offer some skills. I have also worked in marketing, made many portfolios, websites etc. and could help in that department if needed. I also love to take photos and have a little analog camera that’s basically an extension of me. I worked at an English Language Summer Day Camp for multiple years as a homeroom teacher and arts and crafts counsellor. This was a period of my life that I hold very dear as I was surrounded by kids of ages ranging from 4 to 16 and got to teach the little I knew and learn a whole bunch of things from them. I also practice yoga and meditation for many years and have participated in Vipassana a couple of times so I can share some of the knowledge I gained through those experiences.

I speak English and German fluently and have Spanish roots but sadly my Spanish is lacking as I never practice it. I have traveled to Colombia many times as my sister and nephew live there and can share some insight into that if there is any interest on exploring that part of the world.

Was noch ...

I have spent a lot of time abroad. I was raised in Germany, then moved to Vienna, then studied in Barcelona and Amsterdam and returned to Vienna six years ago. I love to move around and see as much as I can about the world and different cultures and way of life. Ever since I am a child I have been struggling to know if I belong in the city or in the country side. After the last few years of living such a sheltered city life and paying for it with my health I decided it is time to find out if I really am suited for a different path. This is why my first journey in regards to Workaway is in the same country that I live in because I am not necessarily traveling to another destination but more to another path in life. I have just quit my last job which was in hospitality and am excited to explore what is next. I am full of hope, curiosity and love!
