Hello lovely people of the world!
We are Gwil and Hayley from Wales. After two years of living in our vans we have recently moved into an off-grid house in the Welsh countryside, so we know all about simple ecological outdoor living! We have many projects we want to start in 2025, including renovating the garden and growing food, planting high biomass willow for firewood, and lots of work on the house. We would love to do an exchange if you would like to come and visit Wales!
For winter 2024-2025 we are escaping the cold and wet winter and going to Thailand for 2 months, and would love to experience simple outdoor living in a tropical place. We look forward to learning lots of new things and meeting wonderful inspiring people from all over the world!
Gwil has many practical skills, including carpentry, building, mechanics, woodwork and electrics/solar panel installation. He is also a scientist, a baker, a wonderful guitar player, a professional yurt builder, qualified telehandler operator, skilled forager, a trained secondary school teacher and extremely easy going :)
As for me (Hayley), I enjoy cooking, gardening, photography, singing, cleaning and being in community. I have a permaculture design certificate and would love to expand my knowledge and practice. I am a sociologist, a Spanish speaker, I love doing crafts, and am an aspiring project manager. I am good at organising, keeping track of things, and thinking of ideas and solutions :)
Together we make a great team! We have worked as travelling chefs for a festival crew and love taking on new challenges. We can't wait to meet you!
