Hi! I am Halina, 20 years old and currently studying at a Liberal Arts and Sciences College. I am originally from Amsterdam, but now live in a small Dutch city called Middelburg for university. I am going into my final year of my bachelor, majoring in Philosophy, Religion Studies and Art History. I go to an international university, which makes me very comfortable with communicating, writing and reading in English. During my travels I would like to experience living and working in nature for longer periods of time. I look forward to meeting beautiful people, having new experiences and learning about different cultures and useful skills.

My parents have taken me backpacking since an early age and I fell in love with travel. I have done a lot of traveling with friends and solo backpacking over the past few years. I grew up riding horses and enjoy working with animals and taking care of them. I love reading, journaling and writing poetry, going on hikes, analog photography, making music (I know a little guitar and piano), going out dancing, spending time with friends and practising yoga and meditation. I recently started learning how to surf, which is something I want to continue doing as much as I can! I deeply care about our planet and am always searching for new ways to reduce my ecological footprint. I love making genuine connections with others and also thrive in solitude.

Since I was fourteen, I have always had part-time jobs, such as babysitting, working in a restaurant, a library, a beach café and helping with horseriding lessons for kids. During my gap year, I worked at a hospital, providing food for the patients. I am a fast learner and a hard, disciplined worker. Hopefully I can be of help to you. Looking forward to learn about your routines, culture, stories and homelife.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have worked a lot in hospitality/with people. I also have experience babysitting and working with horses. I am a fast learner, always willing to help with whatever needs to be done. I am especially interested working with animals, helping around on a farm and working with children. I am a fervent hostel go-er and would love to work at one. I enjoy cooking and am interested in learning about new cuisines. I could also help you with internet and/or social media. In the Summer of 2025, I have done a field work course, traveling from Nairobi to Zanzibar. This was followed up by a two-month internship in Northern Tanzania where I did research into education and taught English language classes.
