Tätigkeiten, die mich interessieren:

On Vesteralen with my car right now and will stay until spring. Would be awesome to meet other traveleres and maybe do some trips together (hiking, surfing, ...)!

Beschreibung

I am travelling all of Norway for a whole year! From its "crowded" south to its artic north. Exploring the beautiful nature, go hiking as often as possible and getting to know the daily life of the people. I hope to get a good mix of workaway and travelling with my car. As I do prefer the cold I was especially curious about the north - and spent the long, dark winter above the artic circle!

But first: Hei, alle sammen!
My name is Florian, I am 30 years old and from Jena, a small town in the green heart of Germany. After finishing my Masters degree in Industrial Engineering I have been working an office job for the last 2.5 years. So I am very skilled at all kinds of computer tasks and organizing but I want to do something with my hands now! Carpentry, renovation, gardening, animal care - you name it! Especially all kinds of wood working are super interesting to me. Also just being outside and living a simple life close to nature, that’s what I am looking for. Beyond that, I don't need much to be happy and can find joy in small, everyday things.

I have a very optimistic approach to life and always a smile on my face. Connecting with people comes easy to me as I am open-hearted and proactive. But I do appreciate the quiet moments just as much and enjoy being on my own from time to time. I consider myself a down-to-earth, curious and helpful person who is always up for a relaxed chat over a cup of coffee ;) I love the outdoors, especially hiking, camping, surfing and sitting at the bonfire in the evening.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Since I am very curious and enjoy learning new things I have acquired a wide range of (more or less advanced) skills in many areas. I'm not a trained craftsman but I consider myself kinda handy since I grew up in a big, old house with a huge garden - so there was always plenty of work. And I am still super motivated to learn new skills!

Renovation/ Carpentry/ Construction
I can handle most tools safely and work independent on basic carpentry tasks, painting, assembling furniture, demolition, cleaning up areas, sorting materials, building a workshop and so on. I also enjoy to sit down and figure out how to repair all kinds of things like tools and machines.

Hospitality
I worked with guests several times and have a professional but down-to-earth approach. I checked guests in & out, explained facilities, provided insight tour information about the local area, helped the kitchen staff with food prep, cleaned guest rooms, etc.

Gardening
I enjoy being outside and I've done plenty of harvesting (potatos, berries, fruits, herbs, mushrooms, ...), cutting grass/ bushes/ trees, chopping wood, digging up beds, seeding, weeding, watering, etc.

Animalcare
I worked with huskies for several weeks, looked after them and trained them on sledge riding. I also took care of pets (cats, rabbits, guineapigs) and started beekeeping two years ago.

Computer & Organization
Although I don't want to focus on "office work" during my workaway I can always help out with all kind of computer tasks and organization. I have a lot of experience in those areas through my studies and jobs.

Housekeeping & everyday life
Overall I am a very organized, self-motivated and honest person who can see what needs to be done next. I don't need exact instructions every day and can take care of tasks independently. It's important to me to keep my surroundings clean and tidy, especially in shared living spaces. Also I’m physically fit since I was always active doing sports like fitness and hiking.
