Hi! I'm Filipa, I'm from Portugal.

I'm taking my first solo trip. I started in January and I'm loving it. I have already been to Cape Verde where I joined a community volunteering project, in Brazil and I will go to Colombia.
My main objectives for this trip are to try different things, discover new skills and get to know better the culture of the places I go. The workaway seemed like a good opportunity to combine both things, and here I am. Also, I love to dance and I'm trying to learn the different dances of the countries I visit.

I am cheerful and positive, social and outgoing, curious, organized, responsible. I like learning new things, being in contact with nature, sports and having fun.

I graduated in medicine, more specifically in the field of endocrinology. I worked as a doctor in this area for 6 years. However, I was unhappy and decided to quit my job and take a break and travel. I want to change careers, but I'm still not sure what I'll do next.
My mother tongue is Portuguese. I also speak fluent English, intermediate Spanish and basic French.
I love music! I can play the piano and I love to dance. I've taken classes in several dance styles from hiphop, house, locking, contemporary, kizomba,... and I want to learn more!
I love plants and gardening and I almost turned my old house into an "urban jungle".
I like organization, whether digital or physical.
I'm handy with computers and technology.
I don't really have knowledge in the area,, but I like helping my father with crafts, home repairs, wall painting, etc., and learning by doing. I already managed to fix a blind with a friend using only youtube videos and by trial and error, it was a feat that made us happy!
I was a volunteer for a few months at the ReFood association, a project that aims to reduce food waste and with this reduction help needy families, promoting social and environmental sustainability. In this project, I collected food not served in restaurants and supermarkets, and then another team selected and distributed it.
I also was part of a community volunteering project in Cape Verde for 1 month, where I did various activities with children, adults and the elderly, from teaching English, occupying free time, reading activities and health screenings.
