Beschreibung

I have traveled a lot over the years and have found myself enjoying the travel where I feel like I’m giving back to the community. While traveling for fun is great, I feel better when the impact I have on the place I’m staying is more of a positive impact rather than one of pure consumerism. I have always had a passion for helping others and have volunteered a number of times for various projects.

I have a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification and have taught English at elementary schools to children. I would be open to teaching more! I studied Spanish in high school and university, so I have some understanding of it but would like to learn more and become fluent.

Expertise and Experience:
I have a bachelors degree in Communication Studies from the University of Georgia. I have used this degree for sales, customer service, and teaching. I have teaching and tutoring experience. I have a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification and have volunteered in teaching English in Peru to elementary schools in impoverished communities. I, also, used to tutor classmates in college. I have lots of experience with animals. I used to run a pet sitting and pet care business, where I often walked dogs and took care of dogs and cats while owners were away. I have volunteered at a horse stable in Guatemala and helped feed, brush, and clean them. I have some agricultural experience from when I volunteered in Guatemala to help farm sweet potatoes with my host family. As well as some personal gardening experience at home. I have experience in mental health where I volunteered to be a helpline specialist for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). This is where I was on the phones assisting people who struggle with mental illness by discussing their problems, giving emotional support, and guiding them to the mental health resources that best fit their needs. I have a lot of customer service experience, when I worked in restaurants, retail, dry cleaning services, and electrical maintenance. I would answer customer concerns, either in person or on the phone, and assist them in solving the issues. I have experience working in soup kitchens to feed people in need. I used to work in food packaging for meals for families in need. This is where I fulfilled orders of over 2,000 meals per week on average. Meals were prepared for nonprofit organizations including: Extra Special People, Athens Community Council on Aging, Acceptance Recovery Center, and Lake Rabun Association.

Was noch ...

I love going to concerts and seeing live music. I have traveled a lot for that. I enjoy rock music, blues, jam bands, country, and blue grass.
I enjoy snowboarding and can ride blues and some black diamond runs. I can keep up a good pace and can do some small jumps.
I crochet a lot and make hats, clothes, purses, backpacks, and jewelry. My crochet instagram is @Waindle_Wearables if anyone wants to see my work.
I enjoy drawing and painting. Arts and crafts are so fun for me and really help me express myself.
