Beschreibung

My name is Eileen, I'm 32 years old and from Germany. After studying psychology and working for a few years, I now quitted my job to travel through New Zealand, South East Asia and Europe for 1-2 years... :)

I'm a very positive, open-minded and empathetic person who loves to have new experiences and visit new places. I always try to see the good in everything and make the best out of any situation.

What I love to do is working with and taking care for others - is it for animals with duties like feeding, walking, cleaning, cuddling; or for other people f.e. in a hostel or café with duties like greeting, serving, giving information, cleaning, ... Also I like to work outside and do things with my hands (as this is a very welcome change from my normal job as a psychologist in germany ;) ).

I am keen and hardworking, very reliable, always motivated to learn new tasks (and learn fast) and have an eye for detail. It's important for me to follow instructions correctly, but I'm also very proactive, see what needs to be done by myself and have ideas for improvements.

I'm passionate about animals and to be in nature. I like water sports (like surfing, snorkeling and diving), I enjoy listen to music, sing or dance, spend time with other people, watch the sunset, to photograph, or just relax and read a book. :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

-> Hospitality and hostel life:
In Australia and in New Zealand I worked in two hostels in exchange for accommodation. My tasks were housekeeping (cleaning bathrooms, kitchen, doing beds and laundry) and working at the reception (managing bookings, check-in and check-out, organizing and supervising the housekeeping, hires of surfboards, ...). I love to meet new people and to work to make their stay pleasant. As I travelled a lot by now and always stayed in hostels I have a feeling for what is important to feel welcome and enjoy the stay. :-)
While studying in Germany I also worked in a café as a waitress and in a local Bed and Breakfast at the reception and behind the bar.

> Farm work and animal care:
I worked on a flower farm in Australia and did picking and planting. In New Zealand I worked on Kiwi Orchards with picking kiwis, maintaining and supervising. I also did different WWOOFings and Workaways on smaller farms or private properties, for example helping on a horse farm with feeding, cleaning, fixing fences, and helping on a farm with sustainable projects for reforesting, where I helped with cutting crass, chopping wood, planting and painting.
Furthermore I worked in an animal shelter in Portugal twice, with 100 dogs and cats, helping with cleaning, walking and socializing. :-)
I'm capable to do physical work, I like to work outside and I have no problem with getting dirty. I love to take care of animals, provide them everything they need and give them some love back.

-> Computer skills and office tasks:
From my job as a psychologist in an university I have experience with administration, different computer software, data entry, and organizing smaller events. So I am also happy to help with any kind of paperwork, booking systems, emails oder phone calls, managing websites, etc. :-)

-> Interest and experience with photography:
I am travelling with my DSLR camera and love to take photos. So if there is any need for taking photos or videos, I am happy to help with this.

-> Car licence and driving:
Having my car licence for more than 10 years already and driving long and short distances regularly, I bring enough experience and confidence to drive different cars and help with transportation, etc.
