Hi! my name is Ember! I travel with my companion cat Loki.
I love being on the open road, especially seeing sunsets, the moon, finding little nooks in the trees with a clear view of the stars or water. I am passionate about community living and participating in sustainable projects. My lil ki and I have been travelling or doing work exchange since August 2021. I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, then moved around, eventually lived in a city, so travelling and contributing to eco-friendly community spaces has felt like a homecoming and given me a purpose in life. In my free time I am usually painting, reading, being with nature, and listening to music. I am motivated by the community movement, group projects, the sun, strong coffee, birds chirping, plants growing, and close friendship.
Also! I am non-binary and use they/them pronouns.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

My experience ranges from nannying and day care (since 2009) to farm work. My nomadic soul has worked as a bookkeeper, personal assistant, maintenance/houseman/housekeeper/co-inspector, retail associate, restaurant host, food prepper, and DoorDash driver. I have also worked some with a non-profit for cats and dogs and another raising money to end poverty. My other two longest experiences are as a cook in an elderly home for 4 years, and a hotel front desk agent for 5 years. In community, I spend most of my time in the kitchen. In one work exchange (thru another app) I was asked to be their assistant grounds manager, creating schedules for garden, kitchen, cleaning, and build teams, and any extra tasks - specifically organizing (which is a natural skill I've developed since childhood). My skills transformed to gardening (planting, harvesting, maintaining, digging, mulching) and construction (painting, caulking, assisting). I have milked cows and goats, and participated in other farm chores.

Was noch ...

I am interested in anything art related. I love playing card games, going on walks and jogs, hiking, and shooting hoops. I have been knitting, sewing, and crafting since childhood, I love knitting hats. I enjoy talking with people and sharing our dreams and goals and motivation for life!

About Loki cat: He is my companion and always with me. He is indoor/outdoor, neutered, rabies up to date 9/2025, good with cats after familiarizing, good with animal people, tolerates/ hides from dogs.
