Hi! I’m a 21-year-old Swede that has been traveling and volunteering for the last two years, since graduating high school. I’ve been traveling solo more or less full time, done plenty different volunteerings and plan continuing to do so.

I’m on Workaway mainly to learn new skills and to meet new people. Also, I want to give back to the places and people I visit, and be able to immerse into cultures. Volunteering is therefore the way of traveling I’ve found most enjoyable.

Primarily I’m looking for more animal welfare/rescue volunteering opportunities, but would absolutely love to learn more about sustainable farming (have a little experience of this) and construction (barely any experience). Further, I’m up for any experience that sounds cool, fun or means possibilities of learning and developing☺️

As a person I’d say I’m energetic and talkative and always happy to learn new things. I like to cook, bake, go hiking, play football or do other sports, go partying, to sing (but I cannot really sing😳😳) and listen to music, crafting and running. Hobbies I’m trying to pick up/learn/do more of includes skating, climbing, sewing, painting, knitting, kayaking, surfing, scuba diving and learning to play some instrument. Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have previously volunteered at five different animal shelters and thereby gained lots of knowledge and experience by doing so. Mainly I have cared for and worked with dogs, but also a whole lot of different animals such as donkeys, goats, hedgehogs, cats and different types of birds, amongst others. I also have a pet cat at home in Sweden, and would definitely love to do some catsitting or more shelter work with cats in the future. At these shelters I have been doing all types of typical shelter tasks, ranging from feeding, watering and exercising the animals, to poo-picking, medicating, doing bandages, changing diapers and some easier social media work. I truly love all types of animals, you could call me a real animal whisperer (;

Furthermore I have plenty of experience of both working and volunteering in customer service and with or around people. I have been at fast food restaurants, grocery stores, cafés as well as hostels where I've done everything from reception work, to bartending, leading group activities and guiding. For the last two years I have been living communally, which I love to do, so I'd be confident in saying that I work well both with living and working with and around most different groups of people.

I love cooking and spend a lot of my free time doing so. Last summer I worked in a summer camp kitchen for a few weeks, preparing three meals a day for 400 people, and was mainly taking care of the special dietary requirement cooking. I am by no means a professional at cooking, but I really enjoy it, especially since going fully vegan at the start of this year, and have ever since experiemented with lots of new foods, ingredients and dishes.

Last autumn I did a bartender course, am now an internationally certified bartender and would gladly mix some delicious cocktails (:

Lastly, I've been doing a few shorter volunteerings at a tree planting camp, house building/renovation projects, permaculture gardens and at a community in the middle of nature. I have a little experience of a lot of different things, and would love to learn even more! I'm a quick learner, hard worker and enjoy both working independently and together with others.
