Hi !
I'm Emily and I'm looking to volunteer/work abroad now that I've finished high school. I want to become fluent with my French (I plan to study nursing in France) as well as explore the different cultures and ways of life across Europe.

I was inspired to join workaway after an incredible medical internship/volunteer experience I did in Cambodia in January. The people I met, the experiences I had and the memories I made there are things I'll treasure forever, and I can't wait to have more amazing experiences like that in the future.

I love travel and learning about different cultures - particularly languages. I'm also a very open and friendly person; I love meeting new people and forming connections.

I'm a very active person who loves all types of sports especially swimming and spending time in the water. I love spending time in nature and am passionate about sustainability and making a positive impact on the world.

When it comes to work, I’m motivated, hardworking, and a quick learner. I'm ready to try new things and put my best effort in.

I am a native English speaker and would love to teach it to others ! I also speak French at an upper intermediate level and have recently passed the DELF B2 exam. I'm hoping to become fluent during my time in France. I'm passionate about languages in general but particularly Italian and Russian which I plan to start learning - but I’m always curious about every language and culture!

- Grew up on a farm, so I’m very comfortable with outdoor work, caring for animals, and helping with practical farm tasks.
- Enjoy gardening and have experience planting, weeding, and maintaining outdoor spaces.
- Over three years of experience in hospitality, developing strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
- Volunteer at the SPCA (New Zealand’s largest animal charity).
- Quick learner and happy to learn whatever extra skills may be required.
