hi there :)
i'm eleni.... an energetic, travel-loving friendly gal who's practically always sportin' a cheshire-cat grin. :)
once upon a time, i was a school teacher but moved on to live in los angeles, california & work in the creative field of tv/film production. it's great fun but california is not all it appears in the movies! ;) so, between projects, i find happiness traveling and exploring different cultures and languages. looking for my place to settle, i bought a house in greece (where my family is originally from) because i feel more at home in europe, living the joy of a european lifestyle. i'm happiest biking or walking for hours exploring the off beaten trails & local spots of quaint neighborhoods. i love working with my hands, am handy with tools and not afraid of getting dirty... i am tiny yet mighty! ;)
helping others through kindness & a smile brings my heart joy. throw in some music.... and i will most definitely be dancing!
when i travel, i prefer to blend in with locals so i'm hoping by joining workaway, i can be part of a project, make friends and give back through service. i am happy to offer a friendly disposition, help with children, animals, home or garden projects and of, course english... hope to meet you soon!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

* working on-set in tv production can prove long hours... i'm used to working hard and not just completing a task but doing it well... and as efficiently as possible. "work smarter not harder", as we say in show business. ;)

* i love working with my hands... gardening, painting, sewing, crafts, cooking. i love fixing things but mostly figuring out how they work. ;) because of my job, i often fix things on the fly, a magyver of sorts.

* i worked with children for almost 17 years so i have fun playing, singing, reading & running around with them.

* in my home in los angeles, i have many plants, indoors and out, that i find so relaxing to garden and take care of. i love nature and am passionate about the environment.... recycling and composting are a way of life no matter where i am. i guess i'm an environmentalist at heart.

* love animals, from farm to pets and being outdoors in nature. trees, birds, flowers.... i enjoy knowing the names of what surrounds me.

* i'm most comfortable in the kitchen and love baking greek sweets and confections.

* i keep things neat, clean and organized, in a living space but am flexible and able to adapt well to my surroundings and situation. naturally, some spaces exist in constant chaos of evolution, such as ongoing restoration projects and one must go with the flow, so flexibility is key.

*i'm also quite good at eating! hahaha... not afraid to enjoy delicious food and it's one of the things i love (& miss!) most about europe! :)

Was noch ...

my whole family is musical and i've tried to teach myself guitar for years, but it never goes well. would love to meet anyone that plays and would like to help teach me a few songs or even piano. ....or accordion! :)
interested in many skills.... italian pasta making, shoe making, olive harvesting, olive oil making, photography, etc.
....i just enjoy being creative , hands on & learning new things!! :)
