hello, my name is Devin John. I am 32 years old and live in Los Angeles. I work in the film industry but spend the majority of my time riding horses and helping out at at the barn or spending time in my family garden with our bees and chickens. In the past year and a half I have slowly transitioning into working with horses full time. I would like to train horses and students in the future. Having young sisters I enjoy spending time with children and teaching them new skill sets and watching them grow. Having gone to and art school my whole life I look at life through an artistic lens to find the artistry and beauty in everything I do. I also make art such as painting, photography, college and sewing. I am motivated by people who have a passion for their craft and I find joy in learning new things everyday.

horses- I rode as a kid for a few years but had to leave due to cost. But I have jumped right back into it in the last 5 years. I spend most of my week at the barn helping out feeding, grooming, tacking up horses for kids, cleaning, whatever needs to get done. There is always more to be done and so much more to be learned and I enjoy like that.

Feeding animals - I have always grown up with tons of animals so I have always been good sticking to a regiment of feeding and cleaning.

arts and crafts - This could be anything from painting a picture to building a bird house. From kindergarten through college I attended art school. Not only has this taught me different art forms but has really informed the way I approach tasks.

Working with children - My mother was a preschool teacher so I grew up around little ones. I also have 2 young sisters one of them is 4 years old. As I got older I started babysitting and then nannying. I helped out with house cleaning, cooking, lunch prep, homework, play time and bedtime. I have also volunteered with kids at camps and at the barn.

I have strong time management, organizational and problem salving skills. I have the ability to think quick on my feet and do what is necessary to get the job done. Most important I’m not scared of a new challenge and always so excited to learn something new.
