Hi! I’m Darío Gómez, a 29-year-old architect from Colombia with experience in design, construction, and BIM technology. I’m currently in a phase of personal growth and exploration, eager to connect with new cultures and share my skills with others.

I’m organized, responsible, and always ready to learn. My background as an architect has equipped me with problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and a creative mindset that I apply to any task, whether it’s hands-on work, artistic projects, or design-related activities. I also have a strong eye for detail, thanks to my experience as a 3D render artist, and I genuinely enjoy putting care and passion into everything I do.

I’m a friendly and approachable person with a positive attitude, and I love working in a team, learning from others, and helping out wherever I can. I’m a native Spanish speaker, have an intermediate level of English (B1), and am improving my Italian (A2), making it easy for me to communicate with people from different backgrounds.

I’m excited to learn new skills, whether it’s farming, maintenance, cooking, or any other task where I can be helpful. My main goal is to contribute positively to the places I visit while immersing myself in the local culture and building meaningful connections.

I’m an architect with experience in design and construction, which has taught me to work in an organized and efficient way. I’m skilled at practical tasks like design, decoration, and problem-solving. I also have experience with 3D rendering, which has made me detail-oriented and patient.

While my main expertise is architecture, I’m open to learning new skills and helping wherever needed. I’m interested in tasks like gardening, maintenance, cooking, or any activity where I can be useful.

I’m a native Spanish speaker, with intermediate English and basic Italian, which helps me communicate with different people and adapt easily. I’m always ready to collaborate, learn, and bring positive energy to the team.

In addition to my professional skills, I enjoy activities that keep me active and moving. I love driving and exploring new places, cycling, and practicing sports in general. These activities not only help me stay fit but also allow me to enjoy the environment and connect with others.

In my free time, I also enjoy watching movies and series and sharing meaningful moments with those around me. I’m always eager to learn something new, try different experiences, and bring a positive attitude to any situation.

vom Host (Help and stay amongst nature ...) für Workawayer ()

Dario has been at mine for appr. 7 weeks. Just before he would come a spontaneous plan popped up to go to the Netherlands for a fortnight. So i planned to call him off. At the very last moment i decided to first review his profile. Although he is rather young to act as a housesitter, i had the feeling that he was a serious and probably reliable… read more person. Thus i asked him whether he could act as a housesitter the first period. Thanking me for my trust in him, he was willing to do so.
He arrived the day befote i would start my travelling. His girlfriend, Sofie, came with him. We had very little time for instructions. So i decided on the scene that feeding the cats and removing winterleaves from the property was the main task and we agreed that i would send a list with chores as soon as i would be in the Netherlands. So we did.
After my return they picked me up from the airport. The day after was a lazy day.
Next day the real work would start. Dario did a lot of chores, some together with Sofie, some on his own, some together with me. I might forget a thing, but it mainly was about: removing leaves, turning the compost heaps upside down, cutting trees and bushes, weeding, painting, mowing the grass, cleaning the swimming pond. Slowly Dario took more and more initiatives like mowing the grass, filling up soapcontainers when he saw that this was necessary etc. They have been working hard, but also didn’t forget to relax.
Dario as well as Sofie - who was not always at mine - are pleasant people to hang around with. They are curious to other costums and habits, cultural differences, life styles, music preferences etc. They are also talkative and open, willing to tell about their own lives, worries and fears. The fact that i could have been their grandmother didn’t make any difference. Sometimes they had difficulties with my direct Dutch approach. Given his statement that Dario had experienced the Spaniards as frightning direct, my approach must have been a nightmare for him;-)
Nevertheless they both succeded in coping with it. On the very end Dario even dared to criticize me, then making apologizes and in the end laughing and making jokes about it all. Dario invited me several times for a meal, an icecream, a coffee. I appreciate that very much.
So i can recommend Dario if you would need help in managing your property or what else. Only one point of criticism: the only language that he really manages is Spanish. Although Italian shouldn’t be thàt difficult to him, we could not communicate in Italian. So English was the only realistic possibility and his English is not very advanced inspite my impression from reading his profile. He regularily seems not to understand instructions, but doesn’t ask to repeat, say it in a different way or whatever. Sometimes i saw it in the result of a job or in the way he was carrying it out and then this has lead to frustrations on my side. As far as it concerns me, he should learn to show that he doesn’t understand and to ask further. Nevertheless, all together, i still can reccomend Dario as a helper and pleasant company.
