Beschreibung

Claire and Dan are a friendly couple from Washington DC, USA, looking to make friends and learn new skills through their travels.

Dan spends his free time cycling around DC, ideally in search of a beer or pizza. He is looking for opportunities to gain skills in building/handiwork, managing a business, and learning about new cuisines.

Claire is an avid gardener, often collecting and trading seeds and plants with friends and neighbors. She enjoys rehabbing furniture, landscaping, crossword puzzles, and art projects. Claire has previous experience as a volunteer farmer as well as with home building and repair. She is interested in learning about sustainable agriculture, bee keeping, and running a small business.

After enduring years of 40 hour work weeks at the office, Claire and Dan are looking for opportunities to branch out and try something new. They especially enjoy spending time near water, mountain hiking (casually - not the crazy big ones), and relaxing outdoors. Both are great with kids and have experience teaching. They have been traveling through Asia, Australasia, and Europe since December 2023.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Environmental: Claire has experience Woofing in Southern Maryland, USA. She was an Environmental Science Minor in college and is a friend to animals and nature. Claire is an experienced gardener, recently leading an effort to restore our cooperative building's backyard and starting rooftop gardening on our rooftop.

Painting and Renovation: Claire and Dan worked their way through college via their college's paint shop, painting college dorms and administrative buildings, both inside and out. Most recently, Claire and Dan organized the restoration of their apartment building bike room - sanding and patching drywall, repainting the entire room, and installing new bike racks. Claire previously worked for Habitat for Humanity. They are both comfortable and have experience using power tools, and what they don't know, are eager to learn in a safe environment.

Physical: Both Claire and Dan are in excellent shape and are able to perform outdoor labor for several hours at a time. Dan has had a prior back surgery and is cautious when carrying heavy equipment or materials, although he is still capable of doing so.

Computer skills: Both Claire and Dan are proficient with Microsoft office suite.
