Hello all!

We’re Brittny (27) and Jacob (30), a married couple passionate about exploring the world together and creating meaningful connections along the way. We both share a deep love for nature, people, and purposeful adventure. Our goal is not just to travel, but to truly engage with the world — leaving every place a little better than we found it, whether by sharing a smile, lending a helping hand, or taking time to care for the environment around us.

I (Brittny) am a naturally optimistic and extroverted soul — my friends often describe me as “sunshine wherever I go.” I thrive on interacting with both people and animals, thinking deeply, and living passionately. I’ve traveled extensively, including working as an AuPair in Italy and spending months exploring the western United States by van, immersing myself in everything from fisheries and national parks to animal refuges. Each new person and place has taught me something invaluable, fueling my love of human connection and cultural exchange.

Jacob is equally adventurous and brings a grounded, thoughtful energy to our travels. He’s incredibly hardworking, curious, and loves to learn new skills. From working with his hands to problem-solving on the fly, he enjoys finding practical ways to contribute wherever we are. He’s passionate about the outdoors — snowboarding, camping, and exploring — and deeply values kindness, respect, and authenticity in every interaction. He has also lived in Sweden to pursue his hockey career and has traveled extensively through that. Together, we balance each other perfectly: I bring the spark of social connection, and Jacob brings calm focus and resilience.

We’re eager to continue our journey through Workaway, not just as travelers, but as participants in meaningful cultural and community exchange. Whether it’s helping with daily tasks, caring for animals, supporting eco-projects, or simply sharing stories over a meal, we want to invest our time and hearts into the people and places we encounter.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I graduated University with a degree in Psychology, a minor in Business and a certificate in Public Health in 2021. At some point, I would like to be a psychologist or life coach with a focus on women empowerment, however I am not ready to settle down yet. I want to spread my positivity and energy with the world while I am young and can travel with no commitments elsewhere.

I have spent the past 10 years working with children in a variety of ways. I have coached dance and gymnastics classes, taught swim lessons, worked with children with autism doing Applied Behavior Analysis therapy, and have countless babysitting and nanny experience. While I was traveling in a van, I worked as a virtual Executive Assistant for an Information Technology Consulting Firm. I am hard working and enjoy learning different business, and personal, techniques but also adapt to change well.

On a more personal level, I enjoy caring for children and the elderly. I find that the innocent and the experienced teach me a lot on the values I want to hold. I am compassionate and gentle, while also stern and expressive. Communication is one of my strongest skills and I take pride in my leadership and adaptability.

I take physical health just as seriously as I take mental health. I enjoy exercise and being physically fit. I am capable of manual labor and spending lots of time outdoors. I prefer to not work on a computer all day and would rather have face to face interactions with others; although I have worked in SEO and marketing. I am a native English speaker but have a basic understanding of Spanish. I am happy to help others learn English!

Was noch ...

I was a competitive dancer for 15 years and music and dance continue to be an important part of my life. I love to listen to and attempt to play music with all different instruments. I love card and board games and tend to be very competitive. Pinochle and SORRY are some of my favorite games. I also love all types of sports! My family typically plays volleyball and American football, as well as soccer and tennis. Being active is an important to me, whether that's hiking, climbing, swimming or biking.
