Hello! 😊 I'm Blanche, a French 22-year-old living in the UK. I left home quite young to pursue my social sciences studies there. I absolutely loved the internatinal community of UK universities, and to this day, most of my friends are from all around the world. Through my own work and life experiences, I've developed a strong connection with nature, the Earth, others, and animals. For the past couple of years, it's been impossible for me not to spend part of my holidays in nature, meeting people, and helping out with meaningful projects in communities.


I would describe myself as dynamic, curious, always ready to help, and I absolutely love meeting new people, hearing everyone's stories, and sharing meals and laughter with strangers! This would only be my second workaway experience, although I feel very lucky to have been able to travel the world a bit and do some volunteering work at home in France and the UK

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Last summer I worked for a few weeks in a German horse farm. My responsibilities included caring for the horses and other animals on the farm, such as cleaning the stables, feeding, leading them to the paddocks every morning, and regularly checking and refilling their water supply. I also ensured there was an ample stock of straw and hay available.
Drawing from my previous experience with horses, I was entrusted with providing one-on-one care for a horse recovering from an injury. This involved daily lunging sessions and gentle rides to help the horse regain his strength and fitness.

The summer before that I have helped with the maintenance of an eco-house in the French Pyrenees for a few weeks. A part of the house functioned as a B&B so I helped a lot with the welcoming of guests and cleaning, cooking (particularly enjoy cooking for others!), bringing drinkable water etc I also helped with the maintenance of the house by sanding and oiling doors/ windows, taking care of the veggie garden etc. So I would say that I have some knowledge of house maintenance and hospitality/ tourism.

And the summer even before that! I spent a month working with people with mental disabilities. It was such a wonderful human experience and I still cherish the connections established with them. I was giving basic French/ History and Geography lessons and lots of games! From this experience I grew a lot of tolerance, acceptance and understanding of others, which are values that I hold dear.

I also have some experience with animals as I use to volunteer in a pet shop when I was younger! Overall, I would say I am quite versatile in my skills and I am always ready to help :)
