I am a student and avid traveler! I am passionate about people, languages, and cultures! I am studying to be a therapist and want to work with families and couples in Eastern Europe. I love running, hiking, rock climbing, traveling, studying languages, and meeting new people. I am motivated to learn about other cultures and language because I want to build relationships with people all around the world. I am from the US but have already spent much time living abroad (specifically in Romania, Ukraine, Latvia, and Georgia) on various service trips, internships, and study abroad experiences. I am looking to take my travel to new heights as I share the home, culture, and experiences of families via workaway :)

I am an easy-going person and adapt quickly to whatever environment I am put in. I love all foods and am always excited to try new things :) I am religious, and my beliefs have had a huge impact in who I am today and has allowed me to have deeper connections with people of all backgrounds. I do not smoke or drink alcohol, but still manage to have plenty of fun haha :) I am an adrenaline junky and love doing crazy things (i.e., bungy jumping and walking across hot coals). As much as I enjoy going out on crazy adventures, I also deeply value being able to sit down and have meaningful and deep conversations with those around me.

I am new to workaway, so if I am not including information on my profile that you would like to know about me, please reach out! I am more than happy to answer any questions or share more about my background/experiences. My current goals as a workawayer are to travel to countries I have always dreamed of, make meaningful relationships, improve the languages I speak (specifically Russian), help my hosts in meaningful ways, and hopefully take this time to find direction for future studies (master program is ahead). I am excited to meet you!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I am a jack-of-all trades and have a broad background in many things, but I have had the most experience in teaching English and working with special needs. I lived in Romania for 18 months and taught English twice a week to people of various levels. I also lived in Ukraine for a summer and taught children ages 4-15 English.

I spent a year working as a manager for a group home with people with disabilities. While there, I handled clients' food, finances, medicine, the other staff, etc. I also worked in the home of a family with two autistic children, helping with many of their daily needs including hygiene, cleaning around the house, and taking them out on excursions.

I worked for a year as a Romanian instructor, teaching Romanian to groups ranging from three to fifteen students. I learned many valuable teaching skills and learned how to teach to the needs of people from a wide variety of backgrounds in fun and engaging ways.

I was most recently living in Tbilisi, Georgia where I worked as an intern at a volunteer center for Ukrainian refugees. I helped package and distribute food, hygiene products, and helped sort other donations.

I have done a lot of manual labor over the years at various jobs, anything from weeding to housework to janitorial work (cleaning doctor offices) to chopping down trees. I enjoy cleaning and manual labor, although I recently injured my foot so am not able to do as intensive labor currently until it heals all the way :)
