Hello ⋆｡𖦹 ˚ 𓇼 ˚｡⋆
My name is Annika

I work teaching young people art, like sewing, weaving and natural dyeing. I also work in fashion, mending and embroidering clothes for designers.

I love making fires, hiking, communal meals, and swimming!
I have led workshops organized group shows and planned long term arts curriculum. I have experience in light carpentry, I can use a drill, a chop saw and other power tools. I'd enjoy learning more alternative and sustainable building techniques. I excel in organizing people and physical spaces. I am learning more about gardening permaculture and farming. I was born and raised in NYC, and have always fought to maintain a strong connection to the natural world .
I am also a dancer, and I practice yoga, qi gong and somatic based mediation.

Workaway has been a way for me to explore/experience the different ways people create a life for themselves outside of conventional society. Plant wisdom, being autonomous in resources like water and food, creating a place for people to gather. I'd love to continue learning more about living by the land, and helping like-minded folks with their brave visions.

I am kind responsible and mature. To every task I bring care, presence and a deep focus.

I can teach all sorts of textile/fine arts classes.
I can mend and repair clothing (and teach you how too!).
I love to garden and build.
I can take on any type of mural, signage or painting projects. I am strong and welcome challenging work. I am a natural leader, conflict mediator, and compassionate listener. I am dancer and avid mediator and can lead movement and mindfulness classes. I am trained in Alexander Technique somatic practices and practice body work.

I really excel in gathering people and organizing events. My artistic and life practice is about finding the essence of all things and connecting to others.
