We are a pair who care deeply about anything we get engaged in, and who always appreciate an adventure or a new experience. We met in Sri Lanka and travelled together there, sharing our passion for exploring new worlds, full of unfamiliar yet undoubtedly delicious foods, enriching cultural ideas, and mysterious, beautiful people.

While in Sri Lanka, we volunteered at various projects allowing us to immerse ourselves in the community and discover how we could have a positive impact. We have stayed together after our many journeys in Sri Lanka, and we are eager to encounter new lands and help with new projects :)


A message from Andrew:

I love doing my best to fulfill the potential I see in the projects and activities I am engaged in. I also love exploring the endless gifts and beautiful oddities that the world has to offer, and in the process, immersing myself in new foods, new cultures, and new idiosyncratic and beautiful people.

I have found endless joy, meaning, new questions and new answers, in traveling. Recently, I travelled across the US in 2022, and in Asia in 2023. Last year, I volunteered working with children on their English skills in Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Indonesia. I also worked in preschools taking care of and playing with toddlers, and at a turtle conservation center.

In the years before my recent travels, I spent time helping with local edible garden/permaculture projects where I grew up near Miami, Florida. I also transformed my home’s lawn, consisting primarily of grass, into a food forest consisting of several species of fruit tree and perennial vegetable plants.

I am always excited to share knowledge in areas I have been passionate about, and to discover and work on new skills. I am open to learning whatever I can to help with a new type of project :)



A message from Karoline:

I am a person who cares a huge amount and this means I put my heart into whatever I get involved in so you can trust me to do everything to the best of my ability.

Working in hospitality for several years has massively improved my confidence in myself and with people and now I would like to reach out in new ways and meet different kinds of people.

Outside of work I enjoy exploring many passions such as having my own motorbike, playing piano, caring for animals and learning different languages. However I also love to discover new passions. For example, recently, I put myself out there and went to Sri Lanka on my own to do volunteering, my first journey out of Europe.

In Sri Lanka, I found that I was able to be immediately open to a new and unfamiliar world, enjoying foods that I had never heard of and befriending the most fascinating and kind people. This was such a meaningful experience to me and made me realise how much of a desire I have to travel more and explore other unique places.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Andrew’s skills:

Foremost, I am open to improving upon my current skills and knowledge as well as to learning new skills.

I have knowledge about developing a food forest, permaculture, cultivating annual and perennial plants of all sorts, and developing healthy soil.

I have extensive experience cooking, often for groups of people. I love exploring different cuisines from around the world, and I have learned to cook many such foods. I was also vegan for five years, and thus I have experience in plant-based meals.

I have experience working with children and would be eager to spend more time working on projects involving childcare. I enjoy playing with children and feel I can relate with them, ensuring they have a fun time while also looking after their safety and needs.

Other skills and interests of mine include writing, photography, and music (such as singing and playing guitar).

Karoline's skills:

From looking after pets, to caring for hedgehogs at a rescue centre, to working on a turtle conservation project in Sri Lanka, I've had various hands-on experiences with animals and I would love to have more opportunities to work with such beautiful creatures as they have a special place in my heart.

My baby niece, who I witnessed being born, has taught me a lot about the demands of living with and looking after infants. I also taught English to children in Sri Lanka for a short time, during which I gained understanding about how to engage with children and encourage them to learn and develop their confidence.

I have a great enthusiasm for art and like to bring creativity into countless aspects of my life. In my free time, I have done a lot of drawing and painting using different media and I've also experimented with 3D art, finding inspiration in my surroundings as well as my experiences. I have lots of fun with creative writing too.

I deeply value other people, as well as their ideas and experiences, and aim to bring a positive energy to any team or person I am working with. I also find I can adapt to the environment I am in and pick up new skills quickly so I am excited to see what I can learn.
