Hi everyone!

My name is Alice, I’m 25 years old (turning 26 in October), and I’m from Italy. I grew up in a small town in Tuscany, not too far from Florence. I studied psychology there, and in 2021 I moved to Rome to specialize in communication and marketing psychology. I graduated in 2023, and right now I’m figuring out my next steps, trying to understand what I want to be when I grow up (hopefully it’s not too late).

I’m looking for my first Workaway experience. I’m not expecting a holiday, what I really want is a meaningful experience, where I can practice my English, learn something new, and discover a place in a different and more authentic way.

I’m an easy-going person and I really value mutual respect. I enjoy spending time on my own, but I also love chatting and laughing with others. I live with three flatmates in Rome, so I’m used to sharing space, respecting co-living rules, and taking care of myself. I can cook some basic meals (nothing fancy, and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend my food), and of course I always clean up after myself.

If there are house rules, you can be sure I’ll respect them, as I said, mutual respect is really important to me.

My friends say I’m pretty funny, but I’m not sure yet if my humor works in English, I guess we’ll find out together.

Feel free to ask me anything else, it’s my first time here, so I probably forgot to mention something important.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I grew up with dogs, we currently have two Labradors in my family, and recently my sister rescued a little cat. I love being around animals, cuddling them, and of course taking care of them whenever I go back to my hometown. I'm enthusiastic about learning more about animals in general and always happy to help in any way I can when it comes to their care.

I also know how to clean, I had to learn quickly when I moved to Rome and started living with flatmates. None of them have ever complained about my cleaning skills (which, as you may know, is a big win when sharing a house).

During high school, I had the chance to participated in a school-work program in two different schools with children aged 3 to 5. I truly enjoy being around kids, getting down to their level, becoming a child again, and playing with them. They usually enjoy playing with me too (which often results in some back pain for me, but it's totally worth it).

I speak Italian, of course, and if you're interested, I'd be happy to teach you a bit.

I also speak English, I read books and watch movies/TV shows in English, but I rarely get the chance to practice speaking it in daily life. I’d love to improve and expand my vocabulary by living and talking with others.

I also have internship experience at a social and economic research company, where I created questionnaires, managed and analyzed data, and wrote reports. While this may not directly relate to typical Workaway tasks, it taught me to be organized, responsible, and comfortable working according to schedules and shifts.

I'm always open to learning new things, and I believe I pick things up quickly when someone shows me how to do them. I’m not squeamish or picky, I’m ready to get involved and put myself to work with a positive attitude!

Was noch ...

As I mentioned, I really enjoy being around animals and spending time with people, but I also appreciate quiet moments by myself. I like listening to podcasts about true stories, enjoying music, or simply relaxing in front of a beautiful natural view.

I’m also curious to try new hobbies. Recently, I had the chance to ride a horse for the first time and I absolutely loved it, I’ll definitely do it again!
I’m also both curious and a little scared to try surfing. I’ve never done it before and I’m not sure I’d be any good at it ahahhaha, but if you’d like to teach me or just try it together, I’m sure we’d have a great time!
