My name is Áine, I’m a 32 year old woman from a small coastal village in Ireland, living in East London for the past 7 years. I have volunteered my entire life and have many types of experience! From volunteering in the mountains in Nicaragua, to working with refugees in Ireland, to volunteering in self-sustaining mutual aid communities in London, to permaculture projects in Spain and Morocco.

I am currently working with my family in the countryside in Ireland in a sustainable food truck project where we create delicious meals from around the world using local and organic produce, however it is time for me to move on and continue my learning journey.

I like to approach new experiences with an open mind and enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories, exchanging knowledge, and laughing together.

My hobbies / passions include yoga, vegetarian cooking, reading, dancing, singing, Irish music, roller skating, learning Spanish and Irish, volunteering and activism. I love learning new skills and trying new hobbies and would be very happy to skill share with others!

I'm very interested in exploring self-sustaining communities and want to learn more about sustainable living, gardening, permaculture, herbal medicine, growing fruit and vegetables, and any other new skills the world has to offer.

I think my greatest skill is a willingness to learn, and a hardworking and enthusiastic approach to building my knowledge and experience.

I have several years of experience working in hospitality, charities, community projects, volunteering, and more. I do a lot of work with migrant solidarity projects which involves planning events, community organising, team leadership, working in kitchens to prepare healthy meals for big numbers of people, building anti-racism movements, and more.

I am from the countryside in Ireland and have spent much time on farms and organic vegetable gardens, but really I am here to learn gardening and growing skills in a work exchange! I am also very happy to jump on any practical tasks relating to carpentry, repairs, building, animal care, forestry, etc.

I am a passionate cook and comfortable preparing tasty and healthy vegetarian meals for large groups.
