For Clarisse :

Hi,

I joined this platform after deciding to take a ‘’ break ‘’ before starting my master’s degree in philosophy. I would like to find ways of understanding differently what I’ve learned during my studies, and most importantly, experience new things from practices, fields and ways or living that are still unknown to me. In this regard, it is not so much the choice of a specific type of work that matters to me, but the ability to understand it rather than simply performing movements without knowing the reasons behind them.

More concretely, I come from Quebec, an enclave of French speakers in Canada. At home, I spend most of my time reading and writing, and since I work in a bookshop, it’s perfect to indulge in those passions ! I also grew up with a brother, a sister and some animals, which is perfect to learn how to share spaces and not to hold grudges... !

For François :

Hello, I'm François, 30 years old, and I've been a regular volonteer for five years now. I work in agriculture as a farmhand in the garden and as a history teacher in the classroom. I continue to do volonteering whenever I can; it's the best way to travel, learn, meet new friends, and also to support worthy causes and courageous little initiatives in this harsh world. I'm a calm, independent person who enjoys walking, cycling, or reading to relax. I appreciate community living and I enjoy cooking. I'm not very handy, but I'm starting to get the hang of market gardening. I'm looking to expand my knowledge in this area, as well as in wild plants, berries, and sharing knowledge by hosting children on farms.

I get by with basic manual tasks such as gardening, painting, housekeeping, cleaning, etc. but I'm obviously keen to learn more specific tasks. I’ve done a bit of babysitting and grew up with differents animals (I love being around them all). More generally, I’m interested in all knowledge areas.

I try to practice yoga daily and love drinking tea (with a soft spot for pu'er). I'm always up for jazz, weird-tasting cocktails and discovering new movies !
