I'm Zoe from New Zealand and I have been backpacking for the last year overseas and am now back in the motherland for a bit of time - currently in a van travelling around this beautiful country before I head off again to explore some new countries!

I love travelling and meeting new people to gain new experiences, learning about people's culture, local sites, and amazing food. I love the outdoors, especially being in the moutains and bush/forest, and all the animals that come along with it. I am generally always up to try the path less walked and discovering new places just by wandering around. I am keen to try some farm work so I can enjoy the landscapes, animals, and fresh food that I help to put some effort into. I like hiking, cooking, crafts, good banter, and am always up for a game of cards. I am pretty outgoing and can be told to quieten down at times, but also appreciate the quiet when the time is right.

For now I want to explore different sorts of work while I travel around to broaden my skills and experiences more, while hopefully being able to share some of my skills as well.

I know a very small bit of quite few languages from my travels - and even did a course in NZ sign language when back during covid, so I'd like to improve! With travelling as well I spend a lot of time with people who have English as a second language so often helping them improve

Was könntest du arbeiten?

My career for over 10 years has been as a nurse in NZ, Australia and London, with some voluntering in Ghana - all of which I have been incharge of shifts so can manage my time and work autonomously and adaptively in situations, as well overseeing and communicating with other staff and patients care. My background in nursing is mostly Burns and Reconstructive Plastics, and Orthopaedics, so I am great with wounds and "gross and gorry things", and always helping fellow travellers and locals out with minor injuries while I am on the road. This all prepares me for what farms may bring too!

Some places I have worked in are hospitals, nursing homes, cafes, warehouse stores, campgrounds, backpackers (reception, bar work, and house keeping), and I have done workaways previously through meeting people directly rather than on the website (as I signed up and then covid happened before I got to use it on my last long travels).

I learn quickly, and am eager to give everything a go, and have a bunch of random knowledge that comes in handy for both myself and others I meet so always like to learn more and share what I know.
