MY PHILOSOPHY AND PURPOSE OF TRAVELING

Hello, my name is Zarja Kambic. I am a journalist, traveler and explorer from Slovenia (Europe). I'm traveling around the world already more than 5 years and my main goal is to really in depth explore the countries that I go to, meet locals, live with them and make meaningful connections, to get to know their culture better.

- I want to explore the World, do and learn as many new things as possible and meet as many new interesting people from different cultures as I can! :)

- I'm also a professional journalist and travel blogger and I'm making interviews with interesting people, making videos, taking photos and writing articles about countries that I explore. I'm following my passion of traveling and learning about other cultures and I would like to share this with others.

I love nature, animals, hiking, snorkeling, photography, art and culture, I am hard working, I love to cook (!), I am fun, friendly and very social.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

1.) I have experience working as a RECEPTIONIST, working for a small hotel in New Zealand, Mexico and in Tonga (South Pacific), greeting and accommodating guests, arranging their activities, making the bookings, answering the phone and emails, dealing with enquiries.
As a volunteer I was working also in a few hostels and lodges in New Zealand and Canada, doing laundry, housekeeping, reception.

2.) I was an ORGANIZER OF EVENTS and ANIMATOR in a popular place for locals and young people in New Zealand. I was preparing, organizing and leading thematical evenings, from idea to realization and then leading and animating those thematical evenings.

3.) I was working as a BARTENDER and WAITRESS, serving drinks, preparing and serving snacks, dealing with payments.

4.) DIGITAL MARKETING - I am a certified digital marketing professional, from Digital Marketing Institute, so I can help you with your social media, content writing, promotion and advertising of your company.

5.) I am a JOURNALIST by profession, I was working as a journalist, reporter and documentarist for our national television for many years, before that I was working on radio and newspapers. So I am good at making interviews, writing articles, reportages, critical analysis, columns, human stories, good in researching and different kind of creative work.

6.) I really like to work with people and I have a lot of experience working with them, mostly as a journalist. Because of my profession I have a lot of experience with WRITING, SPEAKING, CREATIVITY, also with PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO, EDITING, ADVERTISING, ...

7.) I was also the MANAGER AND COORDINATOR OF A EUROPIAN UNION SCIENCE PROJECT, working with scientists from our University and science institutions, creating more than 100 events, conferences and round tables. I was in charge also for advertising and promotion of our project, public relations, writing articles, making interviews with scientists, taking photos and videos for our project, managing and writing content for our social media and website.

8.) I love working with animals!! I was a WHALE GUIDE in Tonga, in South Pacific. We were taking people on the boat to the open ocean to see and swim with humpback whales. This was one of the best experiences in my life. Seeing whales and their calf every day, playing and swimming around the boat and under water, watching straight into whales eyes and hear their beautiful singing is undescribably beautiful and magical. I deeply love this incredibly intelligent animals and respect them very much.

9.) I was a VOLUNTEER IN A WILDLIFE PARK WITH ENDANGERED BIRDS in New Zealand, where I was helping to feed the animals, building and cleaning their environment and learning a lot about their behaviour, conservation and breeding program.

10.) I was working as a volunteer in DIVING CENTRES in Canada, Mexico and Tonga, helping to prepare diving equipment, taking it on the boat, helping divers to choose the right equipment and help them get ready, helping them to get in the water, handing them their gear, helping them to get out of the water, taking their equpment, changing the tanks, serving food and drinks on board and after getting back in port taking unloading and cleaning the boat and all the equipment. In the diving center in Canada I was also cooking food for the divers.

11.) I was working for a CHARITY ORGANISATION in Canada for homeless people and drug addicts. We were helping this people and it was a very intense and unforgettable experience.

12.) I was working as a STORE ASSISTANT in 2 different stores in Canada, mainly working with customers, helping them, advising them what to buy, working as a cashier, dealing with payments, organising the store, making special decorations and arrangements.

13.) I love to explore other cultures and I'm especially fascinated with indigenous cultures around the world. I was living in a MAORI VILLAGE in New Zealand, working and living together with Maori. I was discovering their culture and made a lot of Maori friends already before. I found their culture so fascinating that I really wished to live with them, to explore it even deeper, to get to understand their way of life and philosophy, legends, mythology and history.
I was LIVING AND WORKING WITH LOCALS on the tropical islands in South Pacific. That was a wonderful experience, because I could learn about and live the authentic life.
When I then moved to Canada, I was LIVING IN A RESERVE WITH FIRST NATION PEOPLE (North American Indians), working together with them, learning about their culture, they even took me with them hunting wild animals in the mountains - we were camping in the forest, going up the mountains on horses and I could observe them while hunting. I had the chance to experience also Pow Wow - a three day celebration of American Indian culture in which people from diverse indigenous nations gather for the purpose of dancing, singing, and honoring the traditions of their ancestors.
In Mexico I was exploring many ancient Maya archeological sites, talking with MAYAN PEOPLE that still live today, discovering their culture, cuisine and art and I really hope to learn so much more about them and about Mexican culture in general.

15.) I was working as a volunteer on a rescue hobby ANIMAL FARM in New Zealand and Canada, where I was helping to take care of the animals, feeding them, cleaning them and their environment and anything else that needed to be done.
