G'day! :)

I am a 28 year old wildland firefighter from a small village in Arctic Canada, and have spent every possible off-season escaping our bitter winters to chase adventure around the globe. Most recently, I've been making my way as a roving street performer and scuba diving instructor, an aspiring Jane-of-all-trades hoping to learn more about anything artistic, active and connective I can get my hands on. I am reasonably handy at minor building and repair projects, and inventive and motivated enough to attempt more. I love finding myself in new places to wander and really take my time.

I really enjoy flow arts (fire spinning!), diving, hiking, cooking, chess, languages (and accents!), the rain, origami, animals of all shapes and sizes, and meeting incredible people with whom to do all of these things. I'm an impulsive, cave-dwelling nomad happy to follow my (usually bare) feet before the arthritis sets in. :) So...I guess this is about as well as you can get to know me without doing so in person; hopefully we'll get the chance, if I sound like your kind of person.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Most of my past work experience has been hands-on and interpersonal, having spent the past 6 seasons as a wildland fire crew leader in the Northwest Territories. I often busk through my off-season, or take shifts in bartending and hospitality, though I've also done some time as a construction site labourer, hotel receptionist and benthic invertebrate specialist.

My skill set is varied and fairly eclectic, so I look at Workaway as a wonderful chance to keep adding to the list; I think the most important thing is dedication. You don't need to know everything, just where to find out...I like to think that I'm a hands-on and engaging person, and am more than happy to learn anything that might be useful down the road.
