Beschreibung

Hi! I’m Wouter, a Dutch traveller looking for new experiences before starting a job. I recently graduated from university and want to spend some time exploring, learning new skills and meeting new people.

Personality
My friends sometimes call me the “big friendly giant” .Probably because I’m tall (even for the Netherlands) and have a calm, gentle nature. I may seem a bit serious at first, but I love joking around and I’m genuinely interested in the people around me. In larger groups I can be a bit quiet, but once you get to know me I’m always up for fun, adventure and good conversations.

Travel Experience
I’m new to Workaway, but not new to travelling. I studied abroad twice:
– In Reykjavík, where living close to Icelandic nature sparked my love for remote, wild places.
– In Umeå, Sweden, where I learned some basic Swedish, discovered cross‑country skiing and adopted the habit of enjoying a good fika.
What I loved most was meeting people from all over the world, many of whom I’m still in touch with.

What I like to do
I enjoy being active and I can’t sit still for too long. I do a lot of sports and I’m motivated to help with physical, outdoor or hands‑on tasks. Coming from the very urban Netherlands, I haven’t done much countryside work yet and that’s exactly why I want to try it. I’d love to learn new practical skills and experience a different lifestyle.
