In May-July 2026, I would love to discover a new part of Canada doing Work & Travel in the area of Ontario/Québec.

Beschreibung

Hey, I’m Lina!
I live in the Southwest of Germany in Mainz, near Frankfurt. In March 2026 I will graduate from highschool and I’m planning on beginning training as a surgical assistant in October.
In the months between, I want to travel and would love to actually use the languages I learned in school (English, French and Italian).

My parents went to Nova Scotia with me for holiday last summer break. It was a great experience which eventually opened a new chapter for me causing the desire to experience more of this breathtaking country and its extraordinary gentle and welcoming people.
That is why I would like to travel to Canada in early summer 2026 with Workaway - this time I would love to discover the area of Ontario/Québec.
I decided to try out Workaway, because I like its concept of bringing different cultures and perspectives together in a way both, host and Workaway, benefit from it.
And since my vacation in Nova Scotia, I can’t imagine canadian hosts to be bad people.
I hope there will be a chance for me to verify that assumption ;)
I’m conscientious, attentive and reliable and would love to become a help around your house and to get into exchange with you and other Workaways.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I speak German, Englisch and some Italian and French I learned in school and am open to teaching some German - or even some Italian/French for beginners.
My passion is music and dancing. I play the piano since I was eight and I’ve been playing the trumpet for six years now in several ensembles in my school.
I particularly enjoy jazz music, both listening to it and playing it and I love making music together and would love to share some skills or some of my favorite songs with you.
Dancing has been part of my life since I was three. Though I’m not a competitive athlete, for me, dancing means freedom to feel and to express what’s going on inside of you. Sometimes it’s like party, sometimes it’s like therapy.
It has taught me self-confidence and self-love.
I also enjoy cooking and preparing food in general, which my family and friends seem to enjoy. Last Christmas, I cooked “Caccio e pèpe” (an Italian pasta) for ten people and I nailed it! ;)
I do eat vegetarian, so I also prefer to cook vegetarian dishes which is not nearly as complicated or boring as many think. But I am for sure open to cooking dishes with meat for you as well, if that’s what you enjoy the most.
I’m a very tidy and responsible person, and if I listen to music or an audiobook while tidying up or cleaning, I honestly even enjoy it…
Furthermore, I’m not a computer expert, but I can certainly help with the basics, as well as with iPads or mobile phones.
Besides that, I get along very well and enjoy being with elderly people as well as with children.
I have a lot of experience with both, as I have a close relationship with my grandparents and my, by now, seven nieces and nephews (my cousins’ children; I have no siblings myself).
In my dealings with them, I am very patient, creative and responsible.
In addition to that, I regularly take my neighbor’s dog out for a walk, which I really enjoy, since I enjoy the company of dogs and pets of any kind.
Moreover, I know how to help myself and am quick to learn, which is why I would trust myself to learn new things, painting walls or fences for example, with which I have no prior experience, quickly. And I also have no problem getting my hands dirty.
I want to be a real help to you, so don’t be afraid to entrust me with tasks and to let me try new ones.
I will also be honest with you if I need more help, can’t manage something or have made a mistake, but I will always try my best, so that you benefit as much as possible from my stay!
