Beschreibung

• Holly (35) and Vaughan (35) Batchelor •
Best friends of twenty-six years; together for eleven, married for one.

Based in a beloved hut on a rural horse farm in Kent, UK. We are partial to long walks, live music, environmental endeavours and lasting friendships. We are passionate about being out-of-doors and experiencing the world through walking.

In March 2026 we walked away from our long-standing managerial roles in Medical and Operational Education to fulfil our ambitions to volunteer, workaway and walk.

In April 2026 we volunteered at Chateau Belebat in the Loire Valley, France. During our nine day placement we worked to prepare the vineyard for Spring and helped our hosts with hospitality tasks around the chateau and grounds. It was the perfect introduction to volunteering and cultural exchange.

From April - June 2026 we trekked and camped over 1500km along the the Via Podeinsis and the Camino de Santiago. We have recently returned to the UK having succeeded in our 68 day thru-hike and enjoyed every second of our slow-motion cultural, movement experience.

Now that we have realised our goal to walk 1000 miles through France and Spain, we are keen to keep moving and volunteer in the UK and Asia, with the hopes of also walking several of the ancient Japanese walking ways.

We want to share our skills, energy and enthusiasm with you through meaningful contributions, hard work and understanding.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Living practically and sustainably together for many years, we have a variety of skills and enthusiasm to make and create.

Holly is an English Literature and Media graduate who has been working for the NHS for over 10 years and is a keen writer, gardener and crafter with a preference for recycled materials.

Vaughan is a singer-song writer and performer. A musician working as an acredited Operations Trainer for many years; a master of moving and handling; experience training operators on a variety of vehicles such as fork lifts and cherry-pickers.

We are an authentic partnership with a high work ethic. We have managed people and projects for work, with education and training backgrounds. We have both lent our hand to many trades. We have editorial and design abilities, garden/landscaping and many other labouring experiences.

We love to get our hands dirty, build, maintain, and help others whilst expanding our agricultural and horticultural knowledge.

Both of us are very excited to transfer our learnt skills and experience to the task at hand.
