Hi! :D I'm Vian (29) and living and working currently in Japan after finishing my working holiday last year. I grew up in a small city in Sweden surrounded by nature and snow. I have also lived previously in Japan, in the historically rich Kyoto for 1 year and a half, and in Berlin, Germany for 4. I find motivation in learning & doing new things, since I find with every challenge a potential to grow as a person. There are several things that bring me happiness and joy in life, such as doing the things I love (hiking, climbing, camping, biking, Painting, embroidery, playing guitar & singing, ) as well as helping others and exploring new places. I find joy and fulfillment in having meaningful connection with people from all over the world where we bring the best out of each other and learn from one another. I'm also a very curious person, and find excitement in learning about history, different lifestyles, people and cultures. Sustainability and protecting our environment is also very important to me, and I am therefore very interested in Eco projects and vegan/vegetarian lifestyle. I'm also always interested in positions where I'm able to share my knowledge and experiences to provide support and care for others.

In Sweden I grew up using different languages on a daily basis, mainly English and Swedish. In Japan, I went to language school for 1 year and 6 months (2016-2017) and there I learned Japanese as well as improved my English through speaking with fellow foreigner students. My Japanese has also kept improving now that I'm living in Japan since last year. I have level N2 certificate in Japanese. Lastly, living in Germany for the last 4 years and working there, I learned my fifth language and became fluent in it. Overall, I am very interested in languages and fascinated by the different ways one can express themselves, and how much growth it also offers. I therefore always feel inspirated by learning new languages as well as teaching others.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have different hospitality experiences in Japan, Sweden and Germany. Multiple jobs I have done were in hotels and restaurants. The Hotel job tasks included making breakfast, in the reception carrying out check in and check out as well as showing and explaining the tourist areas to the customers, room cleaning etc. For restaurant work the main tasks included being in the kitchen as well as in the service receiving orders and taking payments on the cashier.

I have also studied civil engineering and worked in projects for improving railway infrastructure in Germany. I might therefore also be able to offer some of my knowledge to help with renovating projects, especially on how to build more sustainably and how to make the house/building more energy efficient.

In Sweden, I also worked in a museum as a receptionist, and on weekends I was an art workshop leader for children.

I can also speak fluently the following 5 languages: Japanese, German, English, Swedish, Arabic and can therefore offer customers help in different languages, or help to teach languages.
I am also very interested in crafting like painting, sewing, embroidery and wood crafting, and can therefore learn very well any crafting job, but also can offer some of my knowledge specially regarding painting and embroidery.

Was noch ...

I have many interests and hobbies and usually very open to try new things and go on adventures! I love taking care of plants and enjoyed every year growing summer flowers in my balcony. Likewise, I also have many houseplants and enjoy watching them grow every year. Sustainability and environmental-friendly lifestyle means a lot to me. I therefore prefer eco farming, eating vegetarian and shopping secondhand as much as the circumstances allow.
I have also done some bike tours (up to one week) and enjoy cycling all year long. Crafting, painting and drawing is something I have been doing for many years, and I am really interested in DIY projects and any crafting projects!! I also LOVE wood and wood crafting!
I also play guitar and love singing and music ! :)
In the last years I have been going a lot for hikes in the alps in south Germany but also in Switzerland and Norway. This is something I definitely want to do when I am in Japan, to enjoy nature, mountains and hiking.
