We are a friendly and balanced couple and we travel this time with our youngest son whose name is Ilya
We have traveled a lot over the past few years
We prefer to spend an active time on vacation. Snowboarding, free diving, kayaking, hiking in the mountains is what inspires us and allows us to rest from the city bustle and our work.
The level of our English is average and we would like to improve it.
Russian is our native language, we know Hebrew at an elementary level.

Vasilii: I’m motivated to learn new skills, (for example, I recently mastered gardening and now know how to recognize Canadian weeds ;) use my previously learned skills and meet new people. My skills are quite wide in construction and repair including plumbing and electrical work, also once built a house from scratch with my father

My main job is locks, keys and codes. I am a professional safe expert, a car locksmith as well as a locksmith for residential and commercial premises. I specialize in opening all types of locks without any damage. I’m happy when I’m working on things that make people feel safe and secure. I’m always happy to see a smile on the face of the person I helped.
So I can teach you a couple of simple locksmith tricks ;)

Before I decided to become a professional locksmith, I had several careers
I worked as a rescuer, performed various high-altitude works using mountaineering equipment, and even for several years worked at the site where spaceships assembled and the launch of spacecraft into space. Also supervised the teems performing work at the height

In my wild white water adventures, I have gone far enough. Had experience as a safety kayaker and even kayaking a couple of times on the southern river Everest Dudh-Kosi

Nina: Recently I have worked more with children in kindergarten. Our two older children have already grown up and live separately from us. Our youngest son Ilya is with us. All our children went to kindergarten and schools with the system of education Waldorf and Montessori
Before that, in my experience there is work in the role of tea shop and club administrator, salesman and accountant in sales of spare parts for cars

So, I can help you with your children, keeping the house clean and cooking

When I’m resting actively, I like the sensible combination of wildlife and the necessary comfort

My skills are quite varied. I am professionally engaged in the maintenance of locks and keys. Safes, doors, cars. In addition, I have skills in construction and finishing works, welding, plumbing works, carpentry, metalwork, geodesy, high-rise work, rescue work, experience as safety kayker and guide on rivers and mountains, took courses in counterfeiting training drivers, first aid courses for victims, free diving, kayaking, snowboarding.

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Help our family with a ...)

We spent almost three months with Monica, Ryan and their lovely daughter Una.
It was definitely the most interesting and memorable experience for us, because before that the longest stay with one host was one month.
We arrived in August and stayed until the end of October. Monica kindly met us in Espanyola and drove us to her house, because we… read more were traveling without a car.

I will write a little about the accommodation, because it was really well organized. We lived in a really big tent, where you could walk at full height. There was a big comfortable mattress on pallets for two, and Monica offered an inflatable mattress separately for our son. The tent had electricity, lots of lamps that we turned on in the evenings, and even a chair with a table.
We washed ourselves, took a shower, cooked and ate in the house where the hosts live. So despite the fact that the accommodation was not organized inside the house, we felt really comfortable.

I did various construction-related work, helped with the renovation of the house, and various gardening and grounds maintenance jobs. My wife helped in the kitchen, cared for Una, and worked in the garden.
What I really liked was that Monica wrote out plans for the day quite clearly, and we understood what was expected of us. We were not tied to any strict schedule, and simply carried out the tasks that Monica planned.
In addition, as far as construction work was concerned, Monica set the task and did not create any strict conditions on how exactly it should be done, I only sometimes consulted with her when I had any questions during the task. Monica is a carpenter by profession, and she knows her business very well. For one of the stained-glass windows, she even made the window frame herself, and in general, the entire house renovation process is absolutely clear to her from a practical point of view. We did quite a lot of the renovation work together, and I was glad to learn the specifics of this type of work from Monica.

Ryan is engaged in car maintenance, and is very good at it. In addition, he is a jack of all trades, and I helped him a little with plumbing when there was a problem with the water supply from the lake.
Ryan taught me how to sharpen a chain for saw chain, drive a tractor, and much more.

In the evenings we had dinner together, talked, and watched the TV series Viking.
Our level of English is not really high, so sometimes there were some nuances with communication, but Monica deliberately speaks quite slowly and tries to explain in simple words if some nuances remained not completely clear. And I understand that my level of English has noticeably improved thanks to the help of Monica and Ryan.

Una is a very smart girl, she makes contact well, and we spent quite a lot of interesting time with her. At this time, she had just begun to walk confidently, and in the three months that we spent together, she practically began to run confidently!

When it began to get quite cool at night in October, Monica made arrangements with his neighbor Justin, and we began to spend the night in a trailer with a heater. This was done with care for us, and I really appreciate it.
In addition, during this time I passed my driver's license exam, and we solved many other matters with which Monica and Ryan helped us a lot. When my English was not enough for an important phone conversation, Monica was always ready to come to my aid.
Also, after I got my driver's license, Monica trusted me with her car several times, for which I am very grateful to her.
A lot has happened during these three months, there were not the easiest moments, but we were able to solve all the technical issues and difficulties that we encountered.

If you are attracted to the rural lifestyle and you are thinking about having an interesting time on the island surrounded by beautiful nature, I strongly recommend you do this with my now friends Monica, Ryan, and their beautiful daughter Una!

Elizabeth gave clear and straightforward instructions. Even when we were alone when Elizabeth was away for education, and we looked after the house and the dogs ourselves, the detailed written instructions Elizabeth left behind were very concise and to the point.

I had a very good experience hosting Vasilii. He had just recently arrived in Canada and stayed with me for 5 days. We spent were a bit of time together, went out to a restaurant and worked together on a project to install some new electrical outlets. I highly recommend and would be happy to host again.
