Hi!!

We are Val and Ben, both 25 years old, and we want to explore the world as volunteers. Our 2024 goal is to help others while we learn languages and develop our skills, document our experiences as videographers/photographers and make new friends along the way.

Val is from Mallorca island (Spain), native in Spanish/Catalan and fluent in English; Ben is from New Hampshire (USA), native in English and intermediate in Spanish. One of our goals is to learn French while we are travelling, so if you are also interested in a language exchange, we are very patient and more than happy to help!

We are an open minded and handy couple, both extroverts, proactive and very positive people, who love adventure and learning new things everyday. We have volunteered together in Spain, Africa, France, Malaysia and Thailand! Between the two of us we can manage a variety of projects related to Front desk/client oriented skills, Animal care, Entertaining/Teaching kids, DIY/Maintenance Jobs, Charity work, Video creation/editing, Creative/Painting projects, Cooking and much more as we love to learn.

If you'd like to know a little more about our previous experience, please find some details below:

• Animal care: from cats, dogs, horses, chickens, ducks to even exotics, we love all kind of animals. Val is an experienced horse rider and both have grown up surrounded by animals and taking care of them.
• Charity work: experience with teaching school subjects to young kids, painting, social media account management, fundraising, entertaining the elder and helping in a soup kitchen, among others.
• Business development, Content creation, social media management, Video editing, etc. Ben has an undergrad in psychology and he is a professional videographer. Val graduated from Business Management and has 3 years international work experience in the Big4 (KPMG) as a consultant. We would both like to work in an NGO and someday start a business together.
• DIY/Building/Maintenance projects & Art/painting: Ben has experience as a property manager and enjoys doing handy craft/carpentry work. Val discovered in Africa her artistic soul, she painted several murals and likes to be involved in creative projects.
• Fitness & sports: hiking, yoga, sailing, horse riding, skiing, ice baths, baseball and more. We follow a healthy lifestyle, nourishing our body and soul.
• Cooking skills. Val loves to cook Spanish food, but also some Asiatic and European dishes. Ben enjoys preparing brunch and breakfast and also loves to learn/improvise new recipes.

Ben:
"I'm a videographer with lots of experience with promotional videos and short form social media content. I have also directed two documentaries! I'm a self motivated individual who will fit in well in any crowd. I have been a student, a self employed handyman, a server and a retail manager. I've completed solo hiking and biking treks before and I love to adventure. I'm no stranger to hard work and am eager to help with almost anything physically demanding. I'm also very keen to help with social media, generating content and marketing strategies, in addition to being a helpful and tidy housemate."

Val:
"I have worked as a consultant, which means I'm used to quickly adapt to new and different challenging projects. I'm a fast learner and flexible person, with the ability to help with lots of different tasks. I consider myself to be creative, resolutive and very organised. I love to take care of animals and kids and I easily make connections with others along my way. I'm sociable and enjoy talking with people, to share a positive vibe and always learn new skills. One of the things that I enjoy most about living with other people is learning recipes from their cultures, since I love to cook and learn from other traditions "
