Hello, Hola, Bonjour!!

We are Val and Ben, both 26 years old, and we love to explore the world, take care of our health, move our body and help others in the communities we visit.

Coming from different continents and passionate about philanthropic and development projects, we decided to quit our respective jobs in Europe and the USA, to start traveling together and find a greater purpose to dedicate our energy in the future. Our goal is to run our own business and/or NGO in the years to come, but we want first to gain more experience as we travel, creating meaningful connections and developing our skills every day through different projects.

🧘🏽‍♀️ ✨ 🌻 🌿 Who is Valvanera?
Val is from Mallorca (Spain) and she speaks 4 languages: Spanish, English, French and Catalan.
She is a very enthusiastic and easy-going person, quickly to adapt to new environments and difficult challenges. She loves practicing yoga, being in nature, reading, dancing and cooking healthy food, among other interests.
She studied Business Management and Marketing and she has worked in finance and admin roles in the past, with consulting background in a big international corporation. She decided to quit her finance job to redirect her career towards a more humanitarian path, becoming a volunteer during the journey.
She is now focused in finding opportunities at yoga retreat centres or hostels to continue learning about yoga practices, gain experience at the travel business and make her next volunteering experiences as aligned to her future goals as possible.

🧘🏻 🌲 🎥 💻 Who is Benjamin?:
Ben is from New Hampshire (USA), native in English and fluent in Spanish. He is a hard-working professional, experienced in videography and post-editing. He is currently working for a Youtube Channel, as the manager for the content editing and creative production.
He studied Psychology, being interested in the human brain and understanding of others perspectives. His work experience is very wide, having from construction knowledge to business management skills. He has worked since he was young in different sectors, but his main passions have always been videography, nature activities, wellbeing practices (like the WIM Hoff method, yoga, breathing techniques, etc.) and connecting with people.

So far, we have volunteered together in Spain, Africa, France, Malaysia and Thailand! We are now visiting Ben's family in the USA and looking for opportunities in Latin America for the end of 2026.

Our experience as Workaway volunteers during the past year include:
• Creating Youtube documentaries and social media videos to promote different projects and fundraising goals
• Tour Guiding at an ethical elephant sanctuary in Thailand (+2 months)
• Engaging with clients and managing the sales activities at a water sports centre in Malaysia ( 1 month)
• Teaching english to kids in several places (+3 months)
• Painting murals in Africa and France
• Cooking for groups
• Gardening, Construction and general handy tasks

If you'd like to know a little more about our previous experience, please find some details below:

• DIY/Building/Maintenance projects & Art/painting: Ben has experience as a property manager and enjoys doing handy craft/carpentry work. Val discovered in Africa her artistic soul, she has painted several murals and loves to be involved in creative projects.
• Fitness & sports: yoga, hiking sailing, horse riding, ice baths, baseball and more. We know how important it is to move daily and to follow a healthy lifestyle, nourishing our body and soul.
• Charity work: experience with teaching languages and school subjects to young kids, painting, social media account management, fundraising, entertaining the elder and helping in a soup kitchen, among others.
• Business development, Content creation, social media management, Video editing, etc. We would both like to start a business together someday, specially related to promoting wellbeing and a healthy lifestyle.
• Animal care: from cats, dogs, horses, chickens, ducks to even exotics, we love all kind of animals. Val is an experienced horse rider and both have grown up surrounded by animals and taking care of them.
• Cooking skills. Val's love language is food and she loves to cook for herself and others. Ben enjoys preparing brunch and breakfast. Together we love to learn/improvise new recipes.

Ben:
"I'm a videographer with lots of experience with promotional videos and short form social media content. I have also directed two documentaries! I'm a self motivated individual who will fit in well in any crowd. I have been a student, a self employed handyman, a server and a retail manager. I've completed solo hiking and biking treks before and I love to adventure. I'm no stranger to hard work and am eager to help with almost anything physically demanding. I'm also very keen to help with social media, generating content and marketing strategies, in addition to being a helpful and tidy housemate."

Val:
"I have worked as a financial consultant, which means I'm used to quickly adapt to new and different challenging projects. I'm a fast learner, with the ability to help with lots of different tasks. I am patient, creative, resolutive and very organised. I loved to teach and work as a tour guide in past workaway experiences. I have good communication and interpersonal skills that help me connect with my colleagues and clients. One of my personal goals is to continue learning wellbeing practices and developing my yoga skills to get the yoga teacher certificate soon."
