Hello,

We are Valentin (French 28 years) and Matthijs (Belgian 31 years) and we are looking for a nice place to volunteer this summer. We met each other in Madrid where we both live right now and we are both very excited to find an interesting project to volunteer where we can make ourselves useful, learn new skills and spend a nice summer whilst meeting interesting people. We are available from the 1st of July (or a bit before) until the beginning of August.
For us both it will be our first experience with work-away/WWOOFing but we are very enthusiastic to make ourselves useful for a beautiful project this summer.


A bit about us:


I am Valentin, I am 28 years old. I am from France and I have lived in Madrid for the last year. I speak French, English and a bit of Spanish. I am working for an NGO that fights against educational inequality (I will have to work 1 or 2 hours remotely a day). I have a progressive mindset, I love being in nature, cooking and working with my hands. I want to try out volunteering on WorkAway because I like working in nature and experiencing living in a community.

I am Matthijs and I am 31 years old, I grew up in the countryside in Belgium and most recently lived in Brussels and Madrid. I speak Dutch, French, English and a bit of Spanish. Professionally, I work around climate policy, environmental protection and sustainable agriculture. I follow a vegan diet and would like to know if this would be possible during the stay. Not that all the common food must be vegan of course but that it would be possible to separate the meat and the dairy from the main dish or that I can cook my own stuff on the side. I am very interested to learn more about sustainable agriculture in practice and look forward to living a slower life away from the city for a month.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We are two enthusiastic and open-minded people who are excited to learn new things and contribute wherever we can. We both have some experience with gardening, caring for plants, harvesting, and general manual work. While we are not experts in carpenting for example, we are hardworking, adaptable and always willing to help with different kinds of tasks.

We enjoy working and connecting with people from different backgrounds. Both of us volunteer with social and environmental organisations and we love it. We are excited to learn new skills and experiences. We are already looking forward to discovering new ways of living and working through Workaway!

We like playing sports like football and volleybal and ping pong and many others, we also love playing board games and chess and to read a good book, go for hikes in Nature and swimming.
