Beschreibung

Hi everyone,

We are Alix & Valentin, two sports lover of 28 years old, we love being outside, enjoying the nature and traveling. We are proactive, energetic and open-minded people, motivated to help you through WorkAway! In the past years our sensitivity for the environment grew and therefore, we intend to do our best in our daily life to respect mother Earth as much as we can.

In the last 8 years, we both had spent a lot of time abroad for our studies, holidays and works. We like speaking other languages and meeting people from all over the world. We both speak fluently English & well Spanish. On top of that, Valentin is learning German & Alix can speak a bit Croatian and have proper discussions in Chinese.
Actually, our last long time in another country was not so long ago. Starting in 2022, Alix had a contract to work for 1.5 years in Zagreb and Valentin quit his job in Nantes to join her there. At the end of her contract, we wanted to take benefit of our time to experience activities that we are not usually doing! As an example, we started our sabbatical period, by a 3-weeks sailing trip along the French Atlantic Coast. That was great and super enriching! Since September and until the end of November, we had some personal projects and we wanted to spend time with friends and family. From now on, we are going to write to you through Work Away to help you with your projects between December and February.
Why until February you might ask yourself!? Well, it is because after a lot of thinking we decided to continue our journey together and our career in Canda for a couple of years and we are thinking to move there at the end of February 24.

Now it might be the time to describe a bit more each of us:

Valentin, I have a degree in Energy and Environmental Engineering that I used for 2.5 years in energy efficiency and developing renewables energies in France. I am a curious, adventurous and rigorous person, always motivated to play board and card games or to do outdoor activities, especially if it is a traveling trip by bike, foot or event boat! This year 2023 was a great one for me regarding that last aspect as, among my projects, I did two long bicycle trips: the first one from Croatia to France and the second one from the Nord of Spain to Lisboa, passing through Santiago. Besides I also used Work Away to help a family to pick olives on Brač, a Croatian Island, for 2 weeks a year ago. In the past, I had already used Work Away in Australia and in Costa Rica for few weeks and I am looking forward to have new experiences here!

Alix, I have a degree in Corporate Social Responsibility and I was working in the renewable energy industry. I am dynamic person who always wants to do new activities. In fact, I have a long list of things that I want to do, practise and learn that keeps getting longer and longer… Drawing or sewing lessons, sports, volunteering in NGO, expositions, going out, learning languages, creating electronical music… you can understand that my curiosity gives me tons of motivations to join, help and learn through Work Away !

Was könntest du arbeiten?

The best way to describe us would be to say that we are "Swiss army knifes".

We are both sportive persons with good physical skills and also empathetic personality, so whatever are your needs (construction, cleaning, babysitting, animal caring, hospitality… etc.) a proactive and motivated workforce here! Btw, we both like to cook if that is also something you are looking for !

Some previous experiences :

[Valentin] I had a lot of summer & student jobs in factories or within the fields (picking fruits… etc.) + a father who always wanted to build and repair things around the house… Don’t hesitate to ask me any task in your garden or around the house.

[Alix] I have done lots of babysitting & I have taught languages in the past, I can do that again without any issues.
