Beschreibung

Hello, we are Amanda and Tomine. We are two girls who are looking for new experiences. We are both very talkative people, although Amanda is more quiet at first. We both love to connect with new people of all ages. We are both very energetic people, and we love being outside and having something to do.

We both come from very small places. I (Tomine) have lived in the same little town my whole life, while Amanda has moved around quite a bit. My hometown has always felt to small for me, and I always feel better when I get to go away for a while. In 2023 me and Amanda both moved to a town in Norway called Kristiansand to do school, and that is where we met. We quickly got to talking about travelling, and I told Amanda that I planned to travel around Europe in 2025. It did not take very long for her to decide that she wanted to come with. And so this adventure began.

When both me and Amanda have been travelling earlier, long before we knew each other, we both loved to explore the nature around us. It’s so facinating to see how different it is from our respective hometowns, and how unique the world really is. For me (Tomine) animals and wildlife have always been one of my biggest interests, while Amanda is more people oriented. She loves having conversations with new people, and to learn all about them. She has been a youth mentor for a now nine year old girl for 2,5 years.

In our free time we like to just sit down and read a good book or draw a little. We also enjoy listening to music.

We have not tried travelling like this before, but we are very excited to be able to give back to the community wherever we end up going.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I (Tomine) like working outside and doing work that can be physically demanding. I have built a tiny house for our robot lawnmower, and my dad and I built a greenhouse for my mom. I also help tend to the plants in the greenhouse, as well as the flower beds that my mom have in our garden.

Amanda has a lot of experience with babysitting. She has 6 younger siblings, and she has helped care for them since she was young. She is very good at entertaining children of all ages, though the younger ones seem to have a special place in her heart.

When I (Tomine) was younger, I used to dogsit for people. I would walk their dog and play with it. The past two years I have also helped care for around 30 working alaskan malamutes, and in the winter I get to go on runs with them in the mountains.

Amanda used to live on a farm when she was little, where they had cows. She helped with a lot of the tasks, such as feeding, mucking, baby delivery help and milking. She also has experience with other farm animals such as pigs and horses. Amandas family has a dog who had puppies last year, and she helped with caring for the puppies and finding them good homes.

I (Tomine) have been a lifeguard for three years. I worked both inside and outside. We learned a lot about lifesaving skills such as cpr, wound care and what to do in case of emergency.

Amanda has worked in a store for 2,5 years. She managed the register, helped to make warm food in the mornings, put the items in place and cleaned.

We both like to cook and be in the kitchen. We like to try new recipies, and we make both dinner and desserts. We are looking forward to learning how to make local food in the places we visit.

When it comes to language and culture we would love to learn as much as possible. Right now we speak norwegian and english fluently, but we have always wanted to learn more languages.

We want to use this opportunity when we travel to learn new skills.
