Hi! I'm Tiziana, I'm 26 years old and I hold a Bachelor's degree in Geology and a Master's degree in Paleontology. I'm currently taking a gap year before applying for a PhD program. During this year, I will be working on a research project in Madrid and participating in an Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program in the Azores. In the meantime, I’ll have a few months free—and I want to take the chance to travel, explore new places, and meet new people through Workaway.

I believe that Workaway is a great opportunity for me to experience different lifestyles and discover new kinds of work environments. I truly enjoy connecting with people and getting to know them, but I also value spending time alone and reflecting.

I've been a scout for 8 years, and thanks to that experience I developed a deep love for nature, camping, and outdoor life. I’m very passionate about sports and I love trying new ones, both in the mountains and by the sea. In Italy, I also take part in obstacle course competitions, which keep me active and constantly challenge me to push my limits. I love music, especially live music, and I’m currently learning to play the bongos!

Volunteering has played a big role in my life. Two experiences were especially meaningful to me: one with WWF, where I worked on projects focused on the conservation of endangered turtle species, and another one at a local mental health institution, where I supported young people with mental health challenges in their path to independence and social integration.

These experiences helped me improve my organizational skills and taught me how to manage different kinds of activities. Most importantly, they shaped me into a more open-minded and understanding person.

I’ve already lived abroad for quite some time, around six months in Spain and nine months in Portugal—thanks to Erasmus programs and other international experiences. I’m always eager to learn new things, discover new places, and meet people with different stories. I'm flexible, curious, and motivated to contribute in any way I can.
