Beschreibung
Being among people is something that makes me happy. Being around with friends or family, or making new connections gives me a lot of energy.
Exercising is something that I greatly enjoy, in all kinds of ways. I love sports (cycling/mountainiking, football, hiking, climbing, surfing), cooking gives me loads of pleasure and I just like to get my hands dirty with being venturing throughout the day.
I feel very engaged with contributing to a more healthy and righteous world, in a sustainable matter. This is something that influences my daily life and I try to spread consciousness among my environment and the people around me.
Currently, I am planning a journey through South-America. Developing my Spanish is one of the primary goals, as well as developing my skills regarding cultivation and gardening. I would love to get inspired by the practices of gardeners in diverging circumstances. Being submerged in an in environment that lives in reciprocity with it's surroundings is something that I have greatly enjoyed, and I would like to explore this in a new context.
I love books, music, mountains, hiking, camping and food

Was könntest du arbeiten?
This year I gratuated from my Master in Rural Sociology. During this two-year degree I learnt a lot about agroecology, social mobilisation and resistance movements, communal agriculture and was inspired by many rural resident empowerment movements.
The Master programme also gave me the opportunity to delve into the practical field. I worked as an intern at a community based market garden, contributing to feed 350 houdeholds by cultivating on 1 hectare. At that same time, I worked at an organization that advocates for local farmer's perspectives in the Netherlands. During my thesis I volunteered at an organic arable farm, focused primarily on legumes, vegetables and herbs. The remaining part of associated fieldwork, I spent volunteering at a care-oriented vegetable garden and food forest.
Besides the academic related commitments, I have work experience in multiple sectors. I was active in Eduction as a student mentor and tutor. Furthermore, I have over ten years of work experience in hospitality as a waiter, bartender, cook, and festival constructor and coordinator. Finally, I worked in the energy sector: informing households about energy savings potentials.
My native language is Dutch and speak English fluently.

During my journey I would love to ground in a community that lives with reciprocity towards the land.
With this journey I hope to be able to learn from encounters with different people, to be exposed to divergent (cultural) norms and values and to procreate appreciation and give back to my surroundings.
