We will be arriving in Australia on 8th February and are looking to settle down somewhere close to nature, get to know the culture and build a routine by helping where we can!

Beschreibung

Helloo, we are Sukey and Joe and we come from a small island called Guernsey in the UK. We have a passion for all things animals, wildlife and the environment. We love to be outside and enjoy sea swimming and walks with the dog.

Joe is a qualified electrician with nearly 10 years experience and is also an SSI Divemaster. Sukey is currently working as an at-home carer for the elderly, and has previously worked for 6 years in a payroll company. She is also training to be a counsellor and will be continuing her studies whilst travelling.

We have recently spent 10 months travelling Southeast Asia, and after coming back home to catch up with friends and family we are now heading out to Australia in Feb 2024.

We aren't afraid to get stuck in and help where we can, and are looking forward to being immersed in a new environment. We are caring, easy-going people and are hoping to make new friends and learn about the Australian way of life!

We both have an interest in learning other languages although currently cannot speak a second language fluently. Sukey studied A Level Spanish and was semi-fluent when leaving school, but has not practiced in a few years so is a bit rusty.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Joe is a fully qualified electrician with almost 10 years' experience on the job, and would be keen to offer up his handiness skills during a Workaway to help develop any project in this area. He is dedicated and always completes his work to a high standard. He has also recently completed his Divemaster qualification and is basic first aid trained.

Sukey has good interpersonal skills, being trained in active listening for her counselling qualifications, and also has a logical mind and good computer skills from working in an office. She is very tidy and organised, managing a team of 12 people at her previous job. Although she does not have the same handiness skills as Joe, she is quick and eager to learn and has a positive attitude. She is also a good cook and can play the piano.

Was noch ...

We are seeking out places where we can get away from the hustle and bustle and reconnect with nature.

Sukey has a keen interest in mental health and is currently studying towards a Psychology degree through distance learning. She is also partway through counsellor training which she will resume when we go home. She loves animals (especially cats), reading, yoga and cooking, and would love to learn more about preparing food from different cultures.

Joe is an animal lover as well - he is more of a dog person but is also interested in birds and would love to find out more about local wildlife in the places that we visit. Joe has recently completed his Divemaster certificate and hopes to see a whale shark one day. He is also very into music and a big hip-hop fan.
