Beschreibung

We are Sofia and Alexis. I (Sofia) am Romanian, and Alexis is French, and we live in Romania. Our next adventure is trying to get to know a tiny part of South America, starting with Ecuador and Peru. We are here because we would like as much as possible to get to know the culture, get in touch with locals, and try to embrace different lifestyles with their authenticity and knowledge.

Alexis :

I’m a hands-on and curious person who loves building, creating, and learning new things. I feel happiest when I’m working with my hands and seeing a project come to life.

I’m a mechanical engineer by profession, which taught me how to take a project from an idea to the final result. One of my favorite personal projects was converting and furnishing my own van by myself. Through that experience, I discovered how much I enjoy woodworking and handworking.
I also took a two-year career break and worked in construction with friends. I gained experience in foundations, exterior isolation, wall building, tiling, flooring, painting, plastering, basic electricity, and general renovation work. I’m comfortable with tools, manual work, and learning on the go. I later used these skills to help my brother renovate his house.

Beyond construction, I’ve worked with Sofia organizing group activities and summer camps for kids. I enjoy teamwork and creating a positive atmosphere.

I grew up with dogs and cats and spent many summers at my grandfather’s farm, where I learned to take care of animals and plants. I’m comfortable outdoors and happy to help with farm task.

In my free time, I’m passionate about mountaineering and hiking. I’ve explored many trails around Europe — and I’m not planning to stop anytime soon. I also enjoy climbing and regularly train at a local club, currently learning to climb and belay outdoors on real rock. During summer, we travel with our van, Eustach, around Romania and Europe, discovering new places, cultures, and of course, beautiful mountains.

Overall, I am motivated, reliable, adaptable, and always ready to help wherever needed. I am excited to contribute with my skills, learn from new experiences, and share meaningful moments during my two months in South America.

Sofia :

I am Sofia 🤸‍♀️🧚‍♀️ I work with children as an educational psychologist, and I will soon be 30 years young 😆

I enjoy the dynamism, creativity, and fun that this work brings, but it also challenges me to keep studying, to be adaptable, and to stay spontaneous while guiding children toward different objectives. This is my main work while I am in my hometown.

I also consider myself quite sporty. Whenever I have the chance, I try to spend time in nature hiking, or if I’m in the city, I go bouldering.

I love artistic and cultural events, especially the exploratory side of them. I enjoy discovering concerts, theatre plays, exhibitions, anything where someone puts their creativity into something and shares it with the world.
