I've spent the last few months traveling slowly across Colombia using up my entire stay allowance as a tourist, next heading into Ecuador. Just prior, had a lengthy stint in Sri Lanka and Indonesia.

I've taught and tutored English on several occasions in the past as well as have some experience teaching and assistant-teaching a range of subject during grad school. Apart from that, I'm a skilled linguist as part and parcel of my professional line of work (as a translator and editor).

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I've got a knack for pithy writing and visual arts (in general and photography in particular). However, despite my artsy and spontaneous m.o., I'm fairly organized, attentive and circumspect by nature.

I have a Master's degree in Fine Arts (Film) and years of field experience in cinematography in the past. I've also done some teaching when in graduate school, which may or may not come in handy in one of the future workaways. Mentioning it just in case.

I speak English and Russian at a native level. And could help someone along with learning either of those and just with language practice, if desired.

I'm also a professional translator and editor (English, Russian, Ukrainian) and would gladly draw on that's expertise during a workaway, should that prove helpful.

May also be worth mentioning that I'm a hell-bent walker and hiker, very fond of trekking up to high places, meandering along coasts and making my way through the woods. In fact, I often put in 10-20 miles of waking a day. I don't shun cities either, enthusiastically combing through urban areas for hours on end, particularly partial to marketplaces and cemeteries.

I do enjoy manual labor (whether digging around gardens of tidying up) and tinkering with stuff at a lo-fi level, though a hanyiman I'm not.

I have volunteered at a hostel in Ireland for a month about a year ago, doing mostly general housekeeping, cleanup and cooking. It was a nice experience, leaving me enough time to survey nearby towns on days off.

Hopefully, the above gives you a decent lowdown on what I generally get up to and how I may be useful as a volunteer. Other than that, I'm resourceful and cheerful and enjoy figuring my way out through whatever circumstances throw at me.
